Ok, I used kushies on my eldest who is now five. I used the second size from about 6 months on. they were ok but often leaked around the legs, never had nappy rash as I used fleece liners. Anyway for daughter number two now 16 weeks I wanted to try again. I bought from a friens a set of bambino mio but so far I'm finding them very annoying! They fit ok except round the tummy where they seem to want to roll in on her skin. and when I wash them they velcro sticks to everything! But they do dry well and don't need a tumble dry like the kushies always did. So I'm currently using a mix of both (have a few smaller kushies) but having now got a smart energy meter i can see how much the tumble dryer is costing me! And with them leaking too I'm fast heading back down the disposable route!

I'm hoping I coudl perhaps sell the bambino and kushies on once I'm sorted and have discover my council offers £30 incentive. So I can spend a little bit on some new ones but really can't afford to keep buying different ones! I think I would like a pocket nappy so i can up the absorbancy and they will dry easier but i want an all in one so i can change the whole thing without just changing an inner and getting soggy! I would love one that will last to potty time too. What should i try out and where can i do a trial? I've seen some trial ones but not for all the brands i would like to try.

I've heard bumgenius are good as are itti bitti d'lish (sp!) what else should i look at please!

I have fuzzy bunz - pocket nappy with poppers not velcro. I use a mixture of hemp and microfibre liners and they're fab - a bit of leakage round the legs but not too bad, especially not with the hemp liners or 2 layers of microfibre. They are sized though so I'll have to buy more when ds gets bigger. We're on the medium at the moment.

Wherabouts do you live? Some councils do Napy trial schemes so you can try lots of different types. Lots of Lollipop advisors also have Nappy Trials that they can lend. If you're anywhere near Oxfordshire or Berkshire I can lend you mine, or if you're willing to pay postage I'm happy to post anywhere.

Hi Nappyshedsal. I would really love to borrow your set of nappies to just give them all a try out! I could meet you in reading on tuesday morn but have to be somewhere by 10.30 (in BRacknell!) What time were you thinking and where? maybe i could meet you out of the town? say hobbycraft maybe? Would I need to pay you for the loan? I will prob post them back to you unless you're down this way again! I don't work at the moment so am pretty flexible!

Hobbycraft would be a fab location. I can do anytime, but need to be back in Wallingfod by 1.45pm so either 1.15pm or first thing in the morning - 9.45ish to give you time to get back to Bracknell. I won't bring the bucket if you think you'll be posting back, I'll just put them all in a mesh or a laundry bag.
Let me know which time you'd prefer. I'll park as near to the Hobbycraft end of the carpark - dark grey Renault Scenic with pink Nappy Shed stickers on the doors!
The loan is free.

There's a site called www.thenappyline.co.uk, and they organise trials of whatever you want to try. They send them by post. Try contactig them

Hi
If you buy bumgenius they let you try 1 for 30 days and if you don't like it you get a FULL refund for all your nappies!
Pretty cool i thought - i bought them and loved them so i never returned them but they definitely offer this service
Check www.babame.com - i think these guys are bumgenius uk

lucieerin · 18/02/2010 23:48

I'm a fairly recent convert to cloth nappies and have tried loads and my favourites are definitely the new bum genius flips. They're BOGOF on fillyourpants.com (once I'd tried the ones I'd bought I ordered four more which came yesterday lol)..they're super easy to use, the insert is ok to tumble dry and the outside is nmear enough dry straight from the washing machine..no leaks either so far, not even at night. Love them and they look great..got some bum genius baby legs to match lol xx

Montifer · 18/02/2010 23:52

Bumgenius flip users....

how many inserts per outers do you need?

TIA

OP - I love my Bumgenius pockets, the Flips'll have to be good to beat them

lucieerin · 19/02/2010 00:19

I have a bumgenius pocket and whilst it works different than a flip, i actually prefer the flip lol.

And I dunno...I've got a mix of different nappies so only have 6 flips but i also have 2 spare inserts as if i'm in the house i change the whole thing anyways, just got the spare inserts for out and about.

I guess it depends on what kind of poo-er you have lol. If you have a messy poo-er that does a lot of poo then you're likely to get some on the wrap (on the inside i don't mean leaking) and will need to change that too. It is pretty much wipe clean haha but I'd rather not personally. They literally do dry in minutes on a radiator though and are no hassle. But if you have a baby that only poops a once or twice a day, I'd get a lot more inserts than wraps as you won't have to change them that often.
