Minki yo-yos or Swaddlebees pockets as a 'pull up' style cloth nappy?

My DS is only 18 months but has decided he wants to at least start to potty train. He doesn't always tell us when he wants to wee, but when he can see the toilet and knows he wants to go, he is very insistent, and usually correct.

So we've got the potties out and are letting him sit when he wakes up and any time we are changing his nappy, plus whenever he asks. He either doesn't go at all, or he goes almost straight away, so we are pretty sure that he is 'performing' by will rather than by accident.

To make it easier we're using disposable pull-ups at the moment, but the cost is a terrible shock, as we bought one set of clothie nappies for our DD and have only ever bought disposables for holidays since! Our plan is to give it a few weeks as we are, then if we think he is ready, try proper potty training then. I'm happy to swallow the cost for a few weeks, but if he doesn't train for awake-times fairly quickly, I'd rather switch back to reusables, as they'd pay for themselves fairly quickly, especially if I bought secondhand/sold some of my beloved Bumbles.

So, I've been researching and think that Yoyos or the Swaddlebees would be the best option for pull ups that are nappies, rather than 'training pants'. But I don't know anyone who's used either - can anyone recommend either? Or advise against?

Thanks in advance.

I have tried both and others. Would highly recommend swaddlebees. Nice fit, quality, easy to pull up/down and reliable. I ended up buying 7. The AIO's and pockets are brilliant. Hate Yoyo's, strange shape with stuffing hanging between legs, fall down when wet and leak.Hard to stiff.
Would also recommend Ecobubs everyday pockets. Similar style to Swaddlebees but not as low in rise. They go up n down nicely too. They're on offer at Green me and I have 2 of those aswell.

Thanks - I hadn't seen the Ecobubs, so I'll look at those. DS is very tall, so the low rise of the Swaddlebees worries me...

They are small in rise but have plenty of popper room on the waist, and fit like pants. I thought they slip down and give a builders bum, but they don't. The velour lining is also really lovely. My boy is almost 3 and 32lb, but they also fit my 7 month old on the tightest settings.

Motherease bedwetter pants are another good pull up nappy but too bulky for daytime under trousers. Great for at night, once they are ready for bed and then decide they need a wee!

Pocket Bots are another option, but better for accidents not to replace a nappy as they won't hold a lot.

I've used the pocket-tots pocket trainers, and they are really good as well. I love their choice of prints!

Thanks both. I'm goin gto do a bit more looking, but I might well end up buying one of each
