Business Trip next month and already in a state at leaving DS.

I will have to spend 6 nights away from home in March - the first time I would have spent full days, never mind nights, away from DS (who will be 14 months by then). Every time I think of it, I cry and fear I will be a sobbing wreck when the time comes.

DH will be at home with him the whole week and will stick to his usual routine (nursery twice a week etc). I keep worrying that he'll forget who I am. How can I deal with this better?

Thank you

I spent a week away from the DC's when they were DD4.5m and DS1.9m. DD remembered who I was when I got back and DS, after a slightly funny look when I came in through the door, was fine too. DH and the grandparents were with them the whole time and they loved it.

Don't worry, he won't forget you, and it won't harm your relationship at all, DS is now 3.9 and constantly comes up to me and tells me he loves me and gives me a kiss!

Thank you wanttostartafresh I know the issue is with me and that the anticipation is probably the worst part. I'll be so busy when I'm working it should go in a flash but the thought of not seeing my DS for a whole week makes me feel so empty. I need to give myself a slap I think as there will be more trips like this.

Probably the first one will be the worst from your pov. Once you've been and come back and realised all is fine with DS, subsequent trips will be a lot easier.
