Night time cloth recommendations please?

Hi Ladies

My DTs (boys and nearly 7 months) have been in Pop Ins since birth. We have found them really easy to use, and have been very reliable. Although they are still excellent during the day, we are finding that they are no good at night now. Both boys wake up very wet, with even their gro-bags soaked. We have used the extra inserts, but these don't seem to make any difference (and make the nappie huge and difficult to get on).

I would therefore appreciate any advice, or recommendations for nappies that will be more reliable at night. Although we love the all-in-ones for day time, we would happily consider another system for night if this would be better.

TIA

Are you using the Bamboo or the Dream Dri pop-ins? The bamboo ones are more absorbent.

Lollipop Bamboo nappies with either a Lollipop, a Onelife or a Motherease wrap. - they're a really good nighttime nappy.

Or the Lollipop Pop'n'Gro - if you use both boosters then you've got a super super absorbent combination.

Those are my 2 favourite night-time nappies.

You could put a fleece cover over their pop ins which would repel the wee back into the nappy. Try Pumpkin Pants ones - a few stockists in the UK now - also cheaper than investing in new nappies. If you do want a good night nappy though - would recommend a lollipop bamboo with a decent cover like motherease or again a fleece soaker. I wouldn't use an all in one overnight.

NappyShedSal Yes, it's the bamboo pop-in's they're in, plus the bamboo booster!! As both you and octothechildherder recommend the Lollipop bamboo with a wrap on top I will look into these - as they are likely going to be in them at nighttime for another couple of years, i'm happy to invest in a few decent ones for the night.

We use TotsBots Bamboozles at night with a Mothease wrap. DD is so huge I couldn't manage a fleece wrap as we'd never get her babygro on! They do a good job though and I can boost as much as needed.

We found that most standard nappies (such as Bamboozles etc) stopped containing night time wetness at around 6 months with DS, and he's just got wetter and wetter ever since (now 18 months).

The ultimate combo is something really absorbant with wool longies over the top, but wool does take some getting used to (try www.clothnappytree.co.uk for advice if you're interested. I keep meaning to try it, but I'm too lazy to knit and too poor to purchase.

We usually use a wee notions night notions (expensive, but brilliantly absorbant) with an extra hemp booster in (we have a couple of different ones, including a wee notions one) with a motherease wrap over the top. It makes his bottom ridiculously enormous, but it does the job very well, and isn't totally saturated by morning.

I recently did a 2 week trial of several different nappies from Babykind.co.uk
I found that the Fuzzi Bunz Pocket nappies worked well through the night for my olympic widdler! (He's 5 months now, - though more the size of 6-7 mnths!)
I just stuffed the pocket a few more times for night time & the fleece material used for the nappy inner kept the wet away from his skin. Really nice absorbent nappy.
It may be worth having a look on babykind website & speaking to Helen if you're interested in doing a trial. It's worth it in the long run if you will need nappies for some time yet & want to invest in something that will suit you personally. My trial worked out about £30 for 2 weeks & that was for about 7 different types (2 of each).
Hope this is of some help.

Good luck. x
