Talk to me about Heelys

I'm not concerned with the image, I'm not concerned with the safety aspect (I've read up on it) but what I want to know about is how difficult are they? Am thinking of getting 7 yo DD some but she isn't very good physically-speaking and can't ride a bike etc. She's quite nervous about physical things and hasn't got great co-ordination. Is there any way she could learn to do these or are they really hard?

Also, how do you walk in them? If the wheel is in the heel then don't you have to walk on tip-toes to avoid sliding everywhere (which would obviously be very uncomfortable).

From what I understand, you only slide on one foot and you have to tilt your foot back to do so therefore, walking isn't aproblem. My dd would give both kidneys for a pair. Tragically her size is never in stock when we look (pushes them to the back of the row emoticon]

So if you walk normally you don't slide but if you tip up you do?

Both dds have these they love them. Will get one of them to give me the run down when they return from school.

But basically, yes you have to tilt your feet slightly back to slide (push off like on a scooter type of thing on one foot) and you just walk normally in them when you are not sliding.

My biggest issue with them (apart from their fugliness) is my dd's skinny feet would just flap about in them.
