99% of the time DD and DS2 find it impossible to tidy up and really don't want to

I ask them to put things away. DD has an itch, a pain, something in her eye, needs a drink, needs a wee, etc etc etc. DS2 will argue he hasn't played with it, got it out, etc etc etc.

She is 6 and he is 4.

I am getting sick of it.

DH has started putting toys in the garage if they don't put them away. They aren't bothered.

DS1 is trying to help while them 2 are pita's.

I am trying to do a roast dinner and tackle the washing mountain, dh is trying to work and right now I will be glad when they are in school tmw.

It doesn't get any better as they get older Ds is 7 yo and gets 'exhausted' whenever I ask him to bring his toys upstairs. DD is 9 yo and has short term memory problems which lead to her going up to tidy her room but forgetting once she's there to tidy actually tidy it. It happened again just now so I'm taking her to the Doctor this week PMSL!!

The 8 year old is now hoovering.

It is all my fault as I used to tidy the toys away while dh took the kids for a bath. I am fussy that things went in the right boxes and it was a break from looking after them. Now we have 18 years worth of toys and 3 kids who don't care where their toys are. They don't even care when they can't play with something as a piece if missing, etc etc.
