I remember my dd always had terrible colic during countdown every night! What a conundrum! The only thing that really soothed her was a mechanical swing that seemed to really calm her down. It was tricky though as I didn't want her to fall asleep as it was so close to normal bedtime.
It was just a phase a will pass but it is heartbreaking to hear them screaming. You have my sympathy.

CRANIAL OSTEOPATHY!!!! I hear your pain - ds was awful, from day 3 it started and got worse - bad nights he started screaming at 7pm and kept at it until 4/30 / 5am... With the odd 5mins off very occasionally.

The what we called 'sleeping tiger' hold helped a bit - basically they are tummy down on your arm with their head in your hand and legs and arms hanging down each side...

Infacol didn't touch it.

Colief definitely helped but didn't make it go away - and its a real faff if you are bf (but we did this despite faff because of how awful the colic was)

3 treatments of cranial osteopathy and it just stopped - no tailing off - just completely stopped.

I hope something works.

Would suggest a sling - my friends daughter screamed from birth to 6 months and the sling was the one thing that kept her calm. They also had a book about 5 S's - shushing, swinging, sideways, sucking - can't remember the other one, anyway they found the advice invaluable,

Book is by Harvey Karp - can't remember what it is called.

Just googled - book is called 'Happiest baby on the block'.
