I have a stinking cold, didn't sleep last night and feel hideously nauseous. I don't work today in any case so I'm home alone with DD 2.3. She's been a little angel it has to be said but she's been watching Cbeebies all day long.

What do you do when you're ill but your DC are bouncing and full of energy?!

Exactly what you've been doing. CBeebies / DVDs and plenty of treats for my kids. Anything that will allow me to doze on the sofa, basically.

By any means necessary!

I muddle thru. I hope you're feeling better!

hope you are feeling a bit better. it is awful when you have to carry on with the dc when all you want to do is lie down, but not alot you can do expect lay on the sofa, let them eat biscuits and watch tv all day.

except

Just ot add, we have all been there and not nice.

Exactly that - I am in the same position as you! DS has watched loads of CBeebies the last couple of days.

DH has been working from home so he is around, but obviously he's working so not really much help except that he's then able to take over from 6ish rather than 7.30 which is when he normally gets home!

I had the winter vomiting bug one day last week. I don't know anyone here and there was no way I could drive DD to nursery. We were both stuck here, with DD (2.9) jumping on my sore tummy every few minutes It was grim.

Didn't help that Cbeebies didn't work most of the day I did discover some good programmes on the other side.

Not really much else you can do.

I have a chronic illness and a 7.5 month old. I am not sick every day, but I hurt most days. Some days, like today, are horrible.

He spends days like today in his bouncy seat with me chatting to him from the sofa. Or in his Leapfrog Learn and Groove. And I hope for long naps!!!

Unless you are completely bed ridden, then you put up and suffer. Abuse television ready meals and the like.

If you genuinely can't get out of bed or off the toilet, then you have to call someone to look after your child. Get OH out of work, call your mum. Our childminder is sometimes able to do a short notice additional day. But this is expensive. It has to be terrible before we do this.
