The joy in their eyes at new things

The fact that dd came home from nursery today and sang the whole of "you are my sunshine" to me, then gave me a huge cuddle

This week I'm particularly enjoying the way ds is testing the boundaries by covering his eyes as he gets very close to doing something naughty - kind of 'if I can't see you, you can't see me'. If only he knew how hysterical it is!

And the way that he's decided that he's too big to bump downstairs on his bottom, so now he walks down but still says 'bump!' at every step.

And how cuddly he is... aw, bless.

I love it when you pick them up from nursery and their little faces light up when they see you.

My ds just started saying "love you mummy".

My dd says "love you to the moon and back mum".

Just love being part of a family and that you are needed by all three of them.

I love......

Watching DS grow and learn
Hearing him laugh
Watching him smile
Teacing him new things
Knowing that when he puts his arms up for a cuddle he has no alterier motive

I love heraing him say 'mama'
I love his cheeky grin when hes told off!

I love that hes here and healthy and that he loves me and i lvoe him no matter what.

Its just feeling that you just couldn't imagine living without them, I just couldn't go on

I love her big grey eyes. When we went to visit an old friend in Argyll he remarked that her eyes were the colour of the Firth of Forth. Now I will see always the beauty of Scotland reflected in her eyes.

I love him laughing so much he gets the hiccups. And listening to him babble to himself in the morning like he's having a real conversation!

I also love him lying next to me, looking into my eyes, whispering 'mama' and then ferociously biting my face (that's how he kisses).

Then he usually gives me a couple of slaps for good measure. Ahhhh!

PeachyClair · 07/07/2005 11:16

lynnej, the same about nursery pick ups . It varies with different ds's. DS1 it's his sheer strength of spirit and the way he knows who he is even at 5; ds2 is his cuddliness; ds3 is his sheer faith in me.

Hugs and cuddles when DS squeezes me sooo hard almost as if he can't get close enough to me
When he kisses me for ages openmouthed (bit messy!)
When he shakes his head before he does anything naughty, because he knows he shouldn't
When the ladies at his nursery call him "a gorgeous little man"
When I cuddle him and he strokes my face with such tenerdness I think I may explode!
When he calls out the very few words he knows or says a new one and is so proud of himself

Gosh, all the time, I love being DS's MOm, it is an immense privilege and so very rewarding and enjoyable! I'm crying, but I am v hormonal!

Walking big mountains in the Lakes with my DH talking about nothing but the kids...returning to our B & B, getting drunk in the pub and going for a Chinese meal safe in the knowledge that my parents are enjoying looking after their grandchildren! Now that's what I call being a Mum...!

Pomi · 07/07/2005 17:14

I have no time to get bored as i had before having kids so the little time I have for myself is like a golden moment for me.

I love her huge blue eyes and curly blonde hair - so cute.
I love it that she is always so happy and smiley and everyone who sees her thinks she is adorable.
I love it everytime she learns something.
I love her little lumbering walk.
I love it when she plays 'running away' and I chase her and she bursts out laughing.
I love that she obviously loves and relies on me so much!
I love her babbling and am waiting for her first proper word.
I love that she has totally changed my life (for the better!) and given me a sense of fulfillment and motivation.

But I also like her going to bed at 7.30pm!
