My name is Spider Mama and I am an MN-aholic.

There. It's out.

I've only being doing mn chat for about a week and already my house is untidy, my dh is negected and I'm staying up late.

This can't go on. Will it run its course like my ebay addiction did? I need to see an end to this.

10 Classic signs of addiction....

  1. Abrupt changes in work attendance, quality of work, work output, discipline.

  2. Unusual flare-ups or outbreaks of temper.

  3. Withdrawal from responsibility.

  4. General changes in overall attitude.

  5. Deterioration of physical appearance and grooming.

  6. Wearing of sunglasses at inappropriate times.

  7. Association with known MN abusers.

  8. Unusual borrowing of PC's at friends, co-workers or parents' houses

  9. Secretive behavior regarding actions and possessions;

  10. Poorly concealed attempts to avoid attention and suspicion such as frequent trips to storage rooms, restroom, basement, etc....anywhere a PC is installed...

Sound familiar anyone?

moondog · 06/07/2005 22:01

spidermama, I am eternally grateful to MNers for keeping me sane during a very long, cold and snowy winter in Turkey.I had just moved there (back of beyond) with a 3 mth old ds and my 4 year old dd,dh was working all the hours God sent,I knew noone, didn't speak any Turkish (and only about 8 expats in the entire place)and the snow was so deep sometimes I didn't leave the flat for three days!!! (Three fing days!!!)

Reckon I was clocking up 4/5 hours a day then.

MN is the reason I am still married.

MrsGordonRamsay · 06/07/2005 22:30

But what did Caligula say..........??

Something along the lines of crack, can't remember the rest, but it was a corker

moondog · 06/07/2005 22:34

At least it's intelligent purposeful conversation.

Mostly....

MrsGordonRamsay · 06/07/2005 22:49

marthamoo · 06/07/2005 22:52

I can 'andle it...

Seriously though. What's all this fuss about Real Life? I've been in the Real World over the last few days and it's Not Nice. MN is lovely in comparison. Stay here with the nice people - it's safe (mostly).

spidermama · 06/07/2005 22:54

There are plenty of articulate and intelligent posters Moon I agree. I love feeling suddenly out of my depth in particular threads. I've even changed my mind a couple of times after reading other views.
