Do I mention this to DDs pre-school teacher - DD says she has been hit "all over" by a boy

I am totally open to suggestion here. I am a first-time Mum to my little girl 3.1 yo.

DD started Pre-school in Sept last year and has settled in extremely well. No crying, tantrums or negative comments. She is a bright, vocal, happy intense child.

She came home today complaining that X had hit her "hard" here, here, here and here whilst pointing to her head and back and legs. She was very vociferous in explaining it to me. She hasn't said anything like this before and is normally very truthful BUT I do know they can possible exaggerate at this age.

I asked what the teacher said and she said she told him " DD is a lovely girl please don't do that to her".

Will I look overprotective or silly if I ask the teacher what happened? I am certainly not concerned about punishment or anything like that but just want to know what happened as DD was quite shocked and upset by it.

Thanks

I would say somthing to the teacher, just so they could keep an eye out if they haven't seen anything.

I would definitely say something to the teacher. And I would expect the teacher to be very apologetic that it happened at all! I understand that you don't want to be seen to be over the top, but 1. they should have told you about it already and 2. they should tell you what they are going to do to make sure it doesn't happen again.

Really? That was my instinct to be honest. OK should I just ask to speak to the Teacher at drop-off in the morning do you think?

Yes, have a chat with her at drop off tomorrow. FWIW I don't think your DD is exaggerating either - what she has said is pretty specific. Good luck!
