Saw this on the BBC this morning. here and here

My DH has always been a very hands on dad, so such info probably wouldn't have made much difference to him. But do you think this will actually be helpful/useful for some new parents? Or is it just more government twaddle/interfering?

I think it may be twaddling rubbish but I think the sentiment is entirely correct - I think the input of Father's is grossly underestimated and it would be lovely to see some focus on them too.

Good Morning to all,
I watched GMTV to-day with ref to The parenting leaflet being issued to all future parents. Now it showed different types of families. But I felt there was no mention of military fathers: who are not always able to attend parenting-anti-natal classes with there wife/partner. Especially in this current climate where the father may be abscent for many months at a time. Because I know from my experience back in the eighties, as I felt at times I was put on the back buner as they say. Though now I am a grandfather to one baby girl.
Thats all for now

Yours sincerely
