Sorry if this is fluffy, but I need to tell someone!

My youngest is 20mths - and he's really hard work. I put him to bed tonight, usual routine, usual breastfeed, cuddles and popped him under the duvet. He was really sleepy and snuggled down right away, his eyes doing that flickering thing, he just couldn't keep them open.. anyway to get to the (fluffy) point... I stroked his cheek and told him I loved him - and he whispered back "love you" with a lovely cherubic smile!

Now I apologise if you want to reach for a bucket... but my husband has gone out to a party and I'm on my own and I just wanted to tell someone because normally, although I love him to bits, he is a little horror. Tonight I feel I got a little bit of love back!

OMG - have just read that back - he's 22 months! 22! Is it just me who forgets how old her kids are sometimes?

no, it's when you start forgetting how old you are yourself that you begin to think motherhood has taken the strain!

Stuf like that is lovely.

Mine was crying in pain the other night and after he wasn't settling for daddy I went in to him and he snuggled in like when he was small and calmed down immediately. He is so scrummy and the most loving of all my children.

Aww, that's lovely, and it all gets so much cuter as they speak more (and more annoying too!)

sockmonkey · 19/01/2010 19:11

Awwwww. That's so sweet.

Totally agree that it's lovely to see threads like this!

My DD is an only one and will probably always be as DH doesn't want anymore . But I never ever thought that I could love anything as much as I love her, it's almost a physical feeling aswell as emotional. She is my world.

Hope you've kept the bucket handy!
