Can little boys be drama queens/kings?

Please say no!

My DD (3.5) is the biggest drama queen going. She is 3 going on 13! For example, if she is not given the drink she has asked for within 2 seconds of asking she is melodramatically holding her hand to her forehead saying she is thirsty, saying 'noone will ever never ever get me a drink ever, oh why oh why!', lies on the sofa reclining and weeping to herself. It starts off funny but quickly becomes tiresome - and it happens many MANY times a day! Quite a few of her (girl)friends are similarly dramatic.

Please say that little boys don't exhibit this kind of behaviour. DS is 9m and I can't cope with thought of any more drama!!!!

Well I have never come across it with my boys but all children are different.

One of my nephews was like this. TBH, he's still overdramatic and whiney as a teen

my ds is already looking like very mcuh the drama 'king' and he's only 8 months hopefully if your little one isn't exhibiting any signs so far you might only have the one.

My DS is a bit of a drama queen! He is 9 now and showing no signs of growing out of it. He has a verucca on his foot and was begging to go to school in the car this morning because he couldn't possibly walk on his foot! We walked anyway

Sorry to disappoint you UM but oh yes siree can they be drama queens - this is what I have been calling my ds lately!!! He doesn't fall over/hurt his finger/scrape his knee he FALLS OVER HURTS HIS FINGERRRR >> SCRAPES HIS KNEEEEEE

Just like one of my dds! They are either like that or not, maybe your ds will be fine as ds2 is (hopefully )

YEP, DS (10) is a drama merchant of the highest order.

Any little cut or graze is a major catastophe, and it was a HUGE deal this morning, that he had to walk to school, as DH was taking dog to the vet, and I can't get out in the slippy icy stuff. He has a good thick Ski jacket, hiking socks and wellies, but a few flakes of snow were falling, which would apparently make him DRENCHED, and miserable all day (it's rather less than 1/2 a mile). And he's got to walk HOME AGAIN !!!!

I pointed out that he should shut up. Lots of kids NEVER get driven to school, so he needs to think about that, and anyway the dog is having a general anaesthetic to have teeth out, so he ought to think of that.

Homework also causes HUGE dramatic falling about "it's TOO HARD" "I CAN'T do THAT!!" goes on for 20-30 mins, followed by 10 minutes actually getting it done.

YEs boys can do it too, but that doesn't mean your ds will. My big brother was the world's drama queen; I was a little stoic (and no, it hasn't changed in 50 years). My dd was a massive drama queen, her little brother is not. Don't even necessarily think it's an older children thing; luck of the draw more than anything else.

I think DD gets it from me tbh. Will just have to hope that DS takes after calm DH!
