10 month old not crawling or speaking - should I be worried?

Hello I am probably being over worried but just got back after a family Christmas where various comments were made about DD's development.
DD sat at six months but never really rolled over much and always hated being on her tummy. Can move herself a little forwards and backwards if creeping but has done that for a month with not much progression. Also she tends to cry and give up rather than reach a toy.
Most of my NCT group's babies are all crawling. MIL was worrying me though by saying how strange there's an old saying 'late crawling, early talking' but that DD not really doing either. DD says mamamamama and dadadada but it's more babble than words. She clapped early, but doesn't wave goodbye or point to things like babycentre says she should - or like her NCT pals do.
Of course (according to MIL) DH was doing all these things about this time.
She has had a bad time teething (only two teeth through) and gone from sleeping through to waking loads. Should I be worried? What can I do to help? Sorry - I may be overreacting but MIL has made me feel bad!

franke and LadyOfTheFlowers - re MIL

Clary - believe me according to NCT group there are a couple with a couple of words

can i claim she understands no as there is a v v momentary pause in grabbing whatever forbidden object before returning to fray?

Well she is.

Think we have mild understanding of 'No!' too as this is usually when he makes disgruntled noises, points his finger at me, grins, then does it again.

Bambino i think DD does similar-ish DD gets one leg stuck before flopping onto tummy...

bloody milestones indeed

am cheered up by thread

ps the baby genius that was DH has spent evening slumped on sofa getting up only to eat takeaway (that I had to organise) so maybe there is something to be said for late development

Hah! don't believe it re words.

Seriously, a word said intelligibly and with any meaning (rather than just mamamamamama) is pretty unusual at 10mo.

Hi, I definitely wouldn't worry. DD1 crawled, walked and talked v early but DD2 didn't crawl til 11mos and didn't walk til 14mos. I thought she would never talk but at 19mos she could count to 10 and sing 3 or 4 songs which took DD1 a lot longer.
Every child is different except for all our genius DH's

She sounds so normal, op. My babies rarely manage to produce any recognisable words before about 16 months.

Exactly what I do hahahaha

I hear you on Baby Genius DH... my MiL broke me the first few weeks...

"Oh she hasn't smiled yet? That's strange. DH was definitely smiling by now... i hope that doesn't mean anything's wrong" (she was 3 weeks)

"She cries an awful lot, doesn't she? I don't think DH cried at all unless he was in a dirty nappy, not even if he was hungry" (she'd just had her 8wk jabs)

And the clincher, after a very long busy day with no nap at 10wks when DD was a bit grizzly and sad "this is what I was worried about, she's inherited your mental health issues"

SHE WAS 10 WEEKS OLD. ignore your MiL, your baby is perfect.

I wouldn't worry about it. My daughter crawled at about 7mo I think, walked at 13mo but still only babbles dadadada and bababababa and doesn't say anything else(she's 20 months). But my niece is only 12 months and she walks, and says loads of words that my daughter can't even say. I am trying to get her assessed for ASD though because she also doesn't point or wave.
