Do you find it quite easy selling on second hand nappies?

I'm just about to buy another couple of nappies for DS to try (freakish fat legged, narrow waisted child that he is), and just worrying about recouping some money (and the nappies getting used, since the whole point is to be something approaching eco).

I buy mostly secondhand, some new, and I wasn't planning to sell until I've had DC2, theoretically in the next year or two.

Bu... would I be better off selling the newer nappies now (itti bittis mainly) and risking spending money again to buy more if they turn out to be necessary next time (if whatever I replace them with doesn't suit the next child), or keeping the lot and selling them all a few years 'out of date' iykwim? I'm worried I'll only get a couple of quid for the hideously expensive itti bittis if I don't sell them now (only used for 6 months).

Also, do people find selling them on here easy, or am I going to have to stalk cloth nappy tree or somewhere?

Urmm.... Any thoughts?

Hi,

Cannot comment on whether it would be easy to sell now or later but when I sold my DDs via Ebay it took me 4 attempts for them to allow the listing. Each other time it was removed with less than an hour to go due to Child Porn issues. I was so ANNOYED! They claimed it was underwear, and they do not sell used underwear - yet they have a category for cloth nappies!

When they did sell it was for a very good price as they seem to retain their worth.

I've not sold nappies, but have bought from these places so they may be worth checking out:

Hope you manage to sell them on OK, there are plenty of people willing to buy nappies that have been 'broken in'...

Allstar I've heard that with ebay - I got pretty good money for some new nappies I sold on there, but never tried secondhand.

Thanks for the other sites numptymum!

I'm sure I'll be able to sell them at some point, and in the grand scheme of things, a pound or two this way or that isn't going to kill me.

If you thinbk you'll use them again, and you like them, then it's worth keeping them and resuing them - that will be cheaper than selling and buying again.

If you don't end up using them again then you will not recoup your money as much in a few years time. Ittis are one of the nappies of the moment so still command high second hand prices. Four years ago I was paying almost new prices for second hand Fuzzis - they were the nappy of the moment then. But I have recently tried selling some Fuzzis second hand and can't even sell them at £3.00 each. Four years ago I'd have happily paid £8.00 secondhand!!
