Silver Liners?

Hi wise MNetters, am a newbie to cloth. My 5 week dd is in little lamb bamboo and occasional terry squares. She has been fine in them with v little nappy rash until the last couple of days. She has a horrible cold (does that change their poo?) and now awful nappy rash from front to back and on tops of thighs. We are leaving out to air as much as we can and using metanium and sudocrem but it looks so sore. Have seen that people recommend silver liners, are they the answer and where do you get them? Hope you can help, thank you

I don't know about silver liners, but washing my DS's bum with cooled chamomile tea sorted his nappy rash (brought on by diarrhoea) within 24 hours. It was a top-tip from a friend and now as soon as I see the slightest bit of red he gets a wipe and he hasn't had a bad rash since.

Thank you for replying so quickly. Is camomile tea available in supermarkets or do I need to go to a health food type place?

Silver liners contain natural healing properties - you can now get plasters with silver in and lots of hospitals use it too - nappywardrobe sells silver liners - they are £2 each. You only need a couple.

Not sure about silver liners tbh but raw silk liners can help. We use them when LO's a little saw. I got mine from bibs and bots. Becareful using sudacrem etc on cloth nappies as it can ruin them. Hope your Lo is better soon

I got my silver liners from nappy wardrobe dot com and I think they helped but DH didn't like them as he is a big fan of paper lift the poo and throw it away liners!
Lackadaisycal on here swears by egg white but I haven't tried it
Are you using wipes or cloth wipes or cotton wool as I find lavender oil in the wipe water can help keep it at bay - DD is awful as she takes so long to cut each tooth - how teething affects bums is beyond my GCSE biology but it really seems to with her!

Liners soaked in honey and chamomile were fabulous on my two.

I found the fluff in the silk liners stuck to the sore patches and made it worse. I am a fan of washable wipes and metanium aswell as silver liners.
