Following on the ingeniuos thread by NaiveNewbie that smashed all charts 3 weeks in a row.. you know which one i mean

I'm a first-time mum and my lo is only 8 weeks old so lots of fun to look forward to Just wondering how can all ya repeat offenders here say 'oh it's so much easier with the 2nd/3rd/55th one'?

To put my question in context. I'm not actually finding parenting to be hard work so far and TBH enjoying it a great deal. Yet my baby is having a 'break' from several days of constant severe wind verging on colic.. has to be carried all the time.. won't sleep on his own half the time.. etc. etc.

That's all fine as long as I can catch up on sleep during the day and occasionally dump him on poor DH.. but I can't really see a way on earth I'd be able to cope with that AND a hyperactive toddler reeking havoc 24/7!

I do want another baby at some point.. and possibly even a third (tho DH would probably prefer vasectomy to 3 kids ) but I'm wondering - how?

That hyperactive toddler you speak of is very good at fetching bibs, wipes, etc.

It's called slavery

Your lo is only 8 wks old. Don't worry, by the time he is a year or so you'll have forgotten all about it and, look back through rose tinted spectacles (sweet snugly little darling baby etc) and start trying for no.2. You'll suddenly remember the full horror of it all a few weeks before the second one turns up.... this has happened to me a couple of times now..... As to how... God knows... I keep forgetting all about it, once they are 3 months old and happy and sleeping I tend to wipe it from my memory.

you just do it!
i have 3 under 5 and it is bloody hard work, but you know, you just do what needs doing and forget the rest.

right now i can just about manage to make enough food for them, and do the laundry, that's about it.
the rest of my time is spent playing with them and feeding the baby and stuff.

Iv two little boys and myself nd dh presently n "negotiations" about when to ttc again, im slightly more reluctant then dh as its me who does the lions share of 'all things homely' i do agree with others who'v said going from 0-1 is alot harder then going from 1-2 but im still daunted about weather im able to be a good enough mum to more then the two ds's im already blessed with

DD is 9 weeks and DS is 3.5 years old

good age gap IMO

DS can amuse himself whilst i endlessly feed DD

he can fetch wipes, nappies etc

i remembered about 72 hours into DD's life why i don't like newborns

i don't think we will have anymore
