I would start with googling or ebay searching "purple disney barbie"

there must be a zillion things online under that description

Something that isn't Disney or Barbie, to wean her off them

BiscuitStuffer · 03/12/2009 14:54

20 quid or so i think. maybe 30. It's our neice and we don't know her at all and she lives over the water.

very good christiana!

I loathe disney and barbie but i'm having trouble extracting info about whether or not she likes craft / dressing up / books etc so I am running completely blind.

Dress up shoes! If you search you can find them on sale at disney store, toysrus and i think primark has them too. My dd got a pack of 12 or something from a friend of mine at around that age. It was her favorite, most used present ever.

TheDevilWearsPrimark · 03/12/2009 15:00

TK maxx do some amazing party dresses for that age - not 'disney' princess but proper princess style. I got one for my DD and she rarely takes it off (grrr)

They are lovely fabrics and stylish rather than tacky. maybe that and a set of fairy wigs from Claires?

SofiaAmes elc have a box of shoes like you describe, I think it's £13 for 10 pairs I'm considering it for DD

The Charlie and Lola set of books in a little bag is fab. It's only a tenner atthe bookpeople too.

Blimey! Aren't you spoilt for choice?

grumpypants · 03/12/2009 16:18

well, if you have to post it - what about story CDs? Waterstones do loads and mine love them.

The dresses at the Disney store are so pretty, have gone mental this year with lots of those and sparkly shoes for the little girls I know.

LittleSilver · 03/12/2009 19:33

A t shirt from www.pinkstinks.co.uk

oooh what cool ideas!! thank you everyone - I've latched on to the disney break your leg dress up shoes idea but i just need to find out if they have carpet or wood floors before I commit! I can also get them from amazon.com which means they'll get delivered straight over there.

I don't know....my dd could do a sprint in dress up high heels faster than me in trainers. We have wood floors and the shoes are really not an issue. Though dd would wear them out if we were going to a restaurant. Biggest problem is that they don't make them in larger sizes and now that dd is 7 she still wants to wear them, but they are too small and she then wants me to buy real high heel shoes which apart from costing too much look more like prostitute wear than I'm comfortable with.
