What do you dress your baby in for bed now it has got cold?

Our 6 month old daughter wears a vest and a baby gro, and sleeps in a 2.5 tog sleeping bag with a double over cellular blanket over her. Sounds like a lot but its been pretty damn cold in the middle of the night in our room and although her head is warm, she wakes up with hands like ice cubes! We've put a long sleeve vest under the baby gro tonight so she has two layers on her arms. What do other people dress their babies in during the cold winter months?

ds2 is 2.5 and wears: PJs, fleece suit and thick sleeping bag. And an enormous nappy.
It is cold in our house.
When it gets colder i will add vest and socks.

Hello!
May I suggest long socks over hands....

We have a chilly house and put our toddler in:

Vest, PJs, cardigan, quilt and blanket

When she was 6 months - about the same as you have. Definietly found she cried if too hot/cold so didn;t worry constatly after a bit...

Oh forgot to say, she is a thumb sucker so covering her hands is a no go if we want her to settle. No am not tooo worried about it, in fact I think she actually sleeps better when it is colder. But what to put her in when the temperatures change has been an endless source of discussion in our house for some time (sad I know)....I was just curious as to what others did...

ds3 usually has either a long sleeved vest, or a babygro

then he has a really warm woolly shawl doubled over, and topped off with 2 cotton blankets.
that keeps him warm enough in his cot, and means he isn't too hot when he ends up in with me lol

14mo in vest and flannel PJs, socks if they haven't fallen off, 2.5tog grobag, and blankie over his hands. And nappy in a nappy wrap which seems to stop leaks...

12week old in vest' baby gro and swaddle blanket. But then the temp never seems to go below 17. feel bad now, but he always warm and when I put more on he gets all clammy.

The coldest our room has got so far is 15 degrees so 3 month old DD is in a long-sleeved vest and babygro in a 3 tog baby sleeping bag (unpoppered until I go to bed and the heating is off). Her hands get icy cold too but she also likes to suck her fingers so I've just left them so far. Considering scratch mits though as I expect she'd happily suck the fabric.

DS used to get icy hands when he was small (and still sometimes does) but it never seemed to bother him, I think at that age the main thing is making sure their "inside" bits are warm. So if she feels warm down her back/chest, and isn't waking up more than usual, then I wouldn't worry about hands. Only time it bothered us was when I fed him in the night and he put his ice-cube hands against my middle, eek!
