Games to play with 8 month old

I feel like I need some inspiration on games to play with my 8 month old DS.

I talk to him throughout the day, sing songs and regularly get on the floor to play with him (building towers with cups etc). However, I feel stuck in a rut, and we seem to do the same old things everyday - especially now winter's coming and the park is losing its appeal. I'm worried that it's getting boring for him and that I'm holding him back in his development.

Any suggestions on good games or activities?

sounds like you're doing a good job! (better than me ) How about getting well wrapped up and going for a walk, it's good for them to get fresh air too. (I should practise what I preach!) DD (9months) spends hrs in her high chair watching me work in the kitchen and to keep her happy & entertained I give her cheerios or cubes of cheese or some such finger food to practise hand-eye co-ordination, pincer grasp etc. Even though she doesn't understand a word yet, I love reading her stories &she likes the pictures and of course they love hearing our voice. But maybe you're doing all this already?!

Relax- although it may be getting repetitive for you, he has only been alive for 8 months, so everything is pretty new and exciting for him... plus, he probably enjoys the repetition!

The fact that you worry about it means you are probably doing everything right.

Having said that, covering him with a scarf and pretending he's disappeared until he pulls it off is fun or you could make him a 'treasure box' full of household objects, spoons, paper etc. which he can explore on his own.

Sounds like you're playing well. Little ones learn through repetition, so don't worry about it. If he's happy, you're doing okay.
