Do you use them or revert to disposables?

We're going away for week, In UK (in our car so have room for bulk)

No washer, Prob have enough to last me the wee.
Worried about smell, stains, And don't want to take nappy bucket...
WWYD??

i'm washable hitler and would, if needed to, buy extra nappies in order to avoid despicables sposies But it depends on whether you want a break from it all- on the whiffs and stains front- if you rinse them out in cold water then bung them in the bucket or a wet bag it shouldn't be a problem. Have a nice holiday!

I'd go for disposables - do you really want to come back from holiday and immediately have to wash and dry a week's worth of washables - which won't be pleasant by then.

We never went to a holiday cottage that didn't have a washer or at least access to a laundry room; and we only made the mistake of not having a tumble dryer once during the years we holidayed in Britain.

Use disposables and give yourself a holiday from that bit of washing too.

Blimey, if there's no machine I'd give yourself a break and use disposables.

I've used washables on hols a fair bit in the past with dd and ds1. Even to Portugal once where the sun bleached them brilliantly. And I do prefer them, both from an environmentally friendly pov and because they won't leak like disposables invariably will. Don't tend to so much now with ds2 as we seem to have so much crap to take as it is!

If you are wanting to be a saint, though, and take them, I'd locate a launderette and wash midweek.

If you have enough take them - if don't want the smell in car on way home, consider disps! The money saved could be an extra holiday treat

Enjoy your hols!

Thanks for the mixed replies..
Have disposables in so may just take the rest of packet.
Don't want to locate laundrette while there that would be too much for me ..
Thanks for advice.

I have always used washables on holiday - including camping every year. If you've got enough to last teh week then just hand rinse the dirty ones through and then wash properly once home.

nicefleece · 22/11/2009 21:11

eco biodegradeable - life is too short to handwash poopy nappies

LittlePants · 23/11/2009 07:35

You could go halfway, and use flushable pads in a washable pocket or wrap! The wraps wouldn't take much to rinse through by hand, and you wouldn't have much to smell on the way back, as the worst w=bit will be flushed away!
