Difference between the AIO Tots Bots?

CarryOnDancing · 14/11/2009 22:12

I have found some fantastically priced Tots Bots AIO's on sale but the description just says 'Tots Bots Cotton Pocket Nappy'. Does anyone know if this means a stuffable nappy as oppose to the popper Easyfit range? If so any opinions? I presume this is an older range?

Totsbots Easyfit come in bamboo or fluffle(microfibre) versions, so if it says cotton pocket it sounds like it's the stuffable pocket nappy with a cotton insert. I have tried one, found the insert was really small, wasn't long enough to fill nappy when folded in half and not particuarly absorbent. The PUL outer is also not very soft.

If it the £120 one on Lollipop it is current stock and is a total bargain!!

This is not an easyfit but a pocket nappy - like a bumgenius or fuzzi bunz it has a stay dry pocket with a double insert in. They are really nice nappies. Would recommend for babies over 14lbs as the legs holes can be a bit big on totsbots pockets/AIOs.

Check out the Go Real discount page too as tey are giving stuff away when you spend over a certain amount.

Thanks Octo, yes they are on Lollipop and I've ordered myself some. I was worried there was some catch as they seem too good to be true!

Bump is due in Jan, I have a few V3 bum genius too, do you think these will be better for a newborn?

Bargain! They will be really good from about 14lbs in weight. Either wait til baby grows into them or buy some smaller newborn nappies - Lollipop size 1 licro sets are also a good idea or nappywardrobe do sandys which are my fave and good with extra small sansys lush! You don't want to buy another full set of 20 though as will end up with loads (but at such a bargain price you will always save money)

Meant to say rikkis

(very distracted by new MN local in side bar!!)

Calling all nappy gurus--please help!
I have had my tots bots delivered, they are V2 cotton pockets as predicted. However I cannot work out the booster (think I'm just being stupid).

The boosters that have arrived with the nappies are really long. One half is thick and the other thin and they seem to naturally fold in the middle. The instructions say use the thick section at the back of the nappy for a girl and at the front for a boy, however, stretched out the booster seems too long for the pocket (especially when on the smaller size setting) and too short when folded.

I am a nappy virgin and the nappy advisor I saw a few weeks back didn't have any totsbots in stock so I am at a loss. Are these the right boosters?

Thanks in advance

I would like to know how they are supposed to go in too, as this is what I meant in my first post about the insert being not long enough to fill the pocket when folded in half.

CarryOnDancing · 20/11/2009 10:53

Mumface, I really wish I had read your post more accurately, I didn't even contemplate such an issue.
I hope its just user error or my lack of experience but it seems impossible when following the instructions.

We need Octo back to enlighten us and save my head from all this scratching!

I've just searched tots site as there used to be a PDF to explain this, but I can't find it - so I'll try...

The booster does fold where it naturally would, then fold the thicker bit to one end and put it into the pocket with either the thicker bit at the front (boy) or back (girl)

To be honest, I've used these and just fold it in half and put it in, works ok for a girl.

CarryOnDancing · 20/11/2009 14:45

Thanks Arja, so it doesn't matter that the booster doesn't reach the ends of the pocket? My concern is sloppy poop up the back.

Please excuse my stupidity but when it is folded its the same width all the way along, do you mean put the fold towards the back?

I've found it, its been bugging me
www.totsbots.com/downloads/easyfitting-instructions-newborn.pdf

That's for an easifit, but it's pretty much the same, rather than adding in the other insert just fold it like the pdf. I think that should help.
The booster should fit the size of the nappy, although it will only soak up wee. Poo won't soak up much anyway, but the booster should fit correctly.

Hope that makes sense. Still Arja - just changed my chat name.

Octothebaglady · 20/11/2009 19:35

Ooh a new name for Arja!

Basically just fold it to fit the size of the pocket - fold it at front for a boy - most important thing. Babies under 14lbs may struggle with the leg holes unless they are chunky - the back should have good containment.

CarryOnDancing · 20/11/2009 19:55

Thanks guys, think I was being a bit anal and thought there was something more to it. You've been super help!

Yey now I just need my little baby to arrive so I can properly trial them
