daughter's temp - 38.7 after injections

daughter of 17 wks had third set of injections today - her tmep this morning is raging at 38.7. She has just fed well and taken some calpol. Shje seems quite bright, but i'm panicking over how high her temp is!!!

what should i do?

did she just have the calpol there? see if that brings it down.

yes - she took some calpol. Temp is already coming down (phew phew phew) to 38.3.

She is so bright and smiley though - amazing!

As long as calpol brings it down hopefully she will be ok. Do you have any neurofen too? Thats also really useful for bringing temps down. (cant remember if 17 week olds are allowed it) Glad shes smiley

you can give her childrens ibuprofen along with the calpol which will bring temp down quicker. Its worrying when they have a temp - but as long as she's bright and responsive she shouldbe fine

god calpol is amazing stuff. down to 37.2 already. feeling less panicky. may even try and put her back to bed. fat chance she'll sleep though.

38.7 is hardly raging - you need to get it in perspective - yes it's high and a fever but not raging. That's about the temperature I start to medicate kids (I've got 4 of them) Please don't panic, I know it's scay but really really not raging - if you panic at at that temp you'll freak out when they actually spike

plus the temp is helping to manage the vaccinations appropriately

I would not medicate at that temp at all though I understand that with a 17 week old it is all very worrying
