DD at early stages of reading what would be good books for her?

HAve a look in yr library too, ours had lots of things eg very simplified fairytales with about four words to a page.

Is there a bookshop you can take her to and then just browse until you've found a few that you both like?

Most ORT books are not phonics based, so she won't be able to sound out the words. Bear this in mind, as it may make her fristrated.

You need to look at some phonic based books. You need ones full of CVC type words that she can sound out simply with her main letter sounds. They will then normally have some trickier high frequency words such as the, to, go, etc.

Does she like Dora?

You need to lookf or this kind of thing which is all sounding out words.
