Is Cat wee dangerous to children? Cat has weed all over 2 yr olds toys

Yes, disgusting I hear you cry!
We moved house recently and the cat has been used to getting in and out a cat flap. Here we have no where to put a flap because all glass.
Didn't want a smelly cat tray in the house so we put her out at night and let her in, in the day and try to let her out now and then inbetween.
Obviously this plan hasn't worked as I have just had my friend in with her 2 yr old and they were happily playing with the toys all morning and when they left and I tidied up, I realised the box and toys were soaking wet and stinking of cat wee . The horrible cat has used the toy box like a tray.
I know cat poo is dangerous but is cat wee?
Toys now soaking (batteries and all, in boiling water and milton steriliser.
Cat is on e-bay!

Weill's disease, kerry.

I have joked about putting DH2B on ebay, drowning him, called him a pain in the ass etc. Does that mean we shouldn't be getting married? The OP is JOKING.

i have two cats MUCH MUCH older than my three kids.As they get older, they sometimes miss the tray bless em....I clean it up.If they see a box that resembles a cat-tray they are bound to wee in it if they can't find their own...it's instinct for a cat to be clean. As far as their wee being dangerous to humans, well,Im pretty shocked.I do know that it's dangerous to pregnant women but,as far as i've been told,it's perfectly safe to anyone else.(no expert but I've had cats for years and years and years....)

My cat had a terrible stomach bug when I was pregnant with DS2 and the vet told me to avoid touching the poo if possible but that the txoplasmosis was usually only present in old cat poo and fresh poo wouldn't contain it

but obv to still take care and wash your hands

All this fuss! Kids will be fine I ate worms as a child and am ok(ish).

Even cat poo is'nt that dangerous to pregnant women Taxiplasmosis is a childhood type disease in cats-they catch it when they are kittens and their poo is only infectious for a few weeks when they have the disease. After this they are immune, so most adult cats that have been allowed out to nibble grass in the garden etc are nothing to worry about.

Don't worry to much about the cat pee incident get a litter tray, clean the toys really well and get on with it.

Thank you itsmeolord, Im glad someone has some perspective on this and more to the point - a sense of humour!!
THE CAT IS NOT ON E-BAY FFS.
I was having a panic about the kids and making light of it at the same time.
You don't actually know me or the relationship I have with my cat !
My purpose wasn't to explain about the life and times of my cat.
I promise, she gets fed, clapped, brushed and full stretch of the couch while we are squashed at the bottom.
I even just spent £400 on x-rays and blood tests because she had a mysterious limp that came to nothing . We have every right to joke and call her the Pain in the Ass Cat, she has been lately. We only joke about it behind her back though, she doesn't hear us!
BUT, yes it makes me nervous when the cat shits all over the garden or pisses on my 2 yr olds toys, it does make me wonder if cats are a great thing to have when your pregnant and have small children. It doesn't mean im about to drown her in the canal.
Right, Im off to watch x-factor, the cat loves Simon!

You can train cats to use the toilet. there are cat toilet litter trays that fit onto your loo or get a litter tray with a top and a flap for your cat to go in.
I really do empathise, my cat is getting older and starting to spray on places she's hasn't before, we use isopropyl alcohol to clean any areas she's been and I've bought child bed wetting Pads to go under throws on the sofas just incase, I also tend to move her cat bed or blanket she sleeps on onto the area (recently a chair) once I've cleaned it so she reassociates it with a place she sleeps not pees that works quite well but you have to really clean the area first!
