2.9yr old DD seems generally irritable and 'bored' unless she has my undivided attention. Is this normal or is there something else going on?

She has loads of stuff that she can do - books, craft, building stuff, trains, dolls etc etc but she just seems to moan constantly and doesn't get on and just play as much as she used to a small number of months ago. She has a 1 year old brother and they get on really well but where he will potter about, she wants to be climbing on my head . Is this normal for this stage of development or could it be something else that I need to be seeing someone about?

Sorry, but LOLOLOLOLOL

It's normal - just a bright, secure little sweetheart who is very bonded to Mummy and wants her all to herself IMO

but I am not dismissing your concern or how wearing it is (my ds1 was EXACTLY like this, it was like having a cloud of bees thrumming around my head)

I don't think you need to be worrying about her though - it's not unusual IMO.

LOL at cloud of bees! It is JUST like that!! How long does this go on for ??

Sympathies, I have a velcro toddler too (2.7 yrs), the only time she sits and plays quietly is when there's a hint it might be bedtime! Am 39 weeks preg too so finding the constant demands for hugs and attention rather wearing - especially as when she wakes in the night (all too frequently) and only Mummy will do - I'm dreading night times when the baby arrives.

oh Greensleeves

Lionstar - maybe the new baby will be all the excitement that she needs - DD was even worse until DS was born and what I'm describing is a marked improvement!

That gives me some hope . She is very excited about the new arrival - though I think it will be eclipsed by the new scooter the baby is bringing!

Hope your situation improves too. Try getting friends involved, DD is miles better when she has a friend for distraction.
