nature babycare nappies - change of design

Hello, apologies first for still having a xmas name but haven't been on in an age and now rushing so no time to change it!!
Anyone else discovered that naty have changed their tab design on their nappies and now totally crap? Am so pissed off they've always been brilliant and now they don't even stick properly and snap really easily. Have emailed them to tell them but I feel like I'm just one voice so if anyone else cross about this please email them, if enough people moan about it then they might just listen!!

Nothing has arrived from Naty yet. I still keep finding the odd old one in various changing places, and wishing I could get more of them. But despite feeling very flimsy, the slightly too-small Sainsbury's 4 ones are still doing ok. Really need 4+ but can't find them.

DS has had a nice D&V bug this weekend too, so if the other nappies can survive that, Naty may well lose me for good.

Moonbells' post quoted "Unfortunately, there
is a possibility that certain sizes of the new design Nature Babycare have proven to be less effective than we would have expected. "

Can I ask which sizes people are using?

I haven't tried the "new" versions yet - have 3 packets of the old still. I'm wondering whether to deliberately buy a packet of the new just to see how bad they are so I can try out different brands if I need to before I run out. My chubby tummied son is in 4s.

moonbells · 24/07/2009 10:52

We're in 4+ though 4s did fit, we found 4+ better for overnights.

I'm currently hoping I left a full bag of old ones at my parents so I've got a few more spares!

Still nothing arrived in post from them. Huh.

Been having same issue (mostly cloth here, but size 4 Natys are our emergency dispo) - just started a newer pack and noticed the change. Will email them too.

aendr · 25/07/2009 22:01

I've got 6 older packs in stock, I'm hoping the corrections are made before they run out!
By the way, out of the way Boots and Mothercare branches tend to have the older ones. We just bought out Boots in Huntingdon's older stock ;-)

mellymooks · 27/07/2009 20:56

Got my voucher from naty today. But don't really want to use it until I'm sure they've improved them. We were using size 4's. We have also stocked up on any old packets we've spotted too. At present we're muddling through with the new ones in the day and saving the old style for at night time as the new ones just don't last through the night. It's so rubbish i really hope they do sort it out...........

dinkystinky · 27/07/2009 21:08

I have noticed that Naturenappies new design is rubbish too - is a huge shame as only just started using them recently and used to really rate them. They come undone any time my 5 month old kicks his legs - totally useless. Will email them now.

Washersaurus · 27/07/2009 21:17

I don't use these any more, but had problems with the old tab design - they just came away from almost every nappy in several packs we used. Naty did sent me vouchers to refund me for the faulty packs - maybe these are part of a similar faulty batch?

MrsOlf · 28/07/2009 10:44

Thanks for this thread. I thought it was just my little girl (22lbs) being too tubby for the nappies until I tried size 4+ too and found exactly the same problem there too.

Fingers crossed they'll sort the design out soon.

Woby · 28/07/2009 11:41

Really glad to find this thread. Had exactly the same problem as MrsOlf. Let's hope they get it sort out out soon!

Haywire · 29/07/2009 18:14

I have found same problem too have just e-mailed them mine were on 4+ size. I have put her in a 5 this afternoon as they seem to have old style tabs although new packaging but it leaked within 2 hours for no particular reason.

This is really annoying as we have always used them on our 20 month old with no problems at all. don't want to resort to horrible chemically smellingnappies and can't face using our re-usables again in this weather they take soooo long to dry.

KittyScruff · 31/07/2009 16:21

Me too everyone - I bought the new style from Ocado (size 4) - and found them to be too small, even though my few old size 4's still fit. Went to the 4+ and started getting leaks - also fluffy residue sticking to bubs hips and tabs falling apart and not sticking! Why did they change a good thing? Has anyone found anyone stocking the old style in South London?

On the Moltex question - they are not as eco friendly as Naty for a start - they are more expensive and harder to come by - and they also leak!!! I stuck with them for 4 months before switching to Naty and found Naty performed better... til now!

swishyswashyswishyswashy · 31/07/2009 16:32

Noticed the same thing, it's really annoying - have switched to Pampers for now but I'm still stuck with one and a half packets of nappies with the useless tabs. I was thinking of using some old wraps from when we used cloth but you shouldn't really have to with disposables!

mummypig · 31/07/2009 16:40

I have also had a problem with the new design. I mostly use washables but have a few Nature Baby disposables around to use now and again. I bought a new pack of size 4+ recently and have been using them more often than usual (as dp is around and is not keen on washables and it is nice if he helps with nappy changes now and then). But they just keep falling off. More than once poor ds3 has been wandering around with a nappy down one leg of his dungarees.

I've had a look at the website and it does look like they've made changes and are shipping out new nappies with better tabs on.

They say you can check the batchcode to see when the nappies were made, and anything after the first day of July should be okay - I reckon this means the number indicating the day should be 182 or later. Does that sound right?

KittyScruff · 31/07/2009 17:05

My local pharmacy has just confirmed they have recalled the new styles and they don't know when new stock is due. For now I have my one life nappy covers and some boys underpants I pop over them which seems to work - yes it does seem mad to have to do this, but at least our landfill contribution will break down! Polishing my halo as I type...

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 31/07/2009 17:12

I'm glad I'm not the only one! I have emailed too.

Even with the crap new design, they are still my favourite nappies

aendr · 01/08/2009 08:22

mummypig: yes, 182 is the "Julian Day" for the 1st of July. (I use Julian Days a lot when at work for identifying data - and mat.leave. brain hasn't totally fried yay!) Thanks for spotting that blogpost and telling us about it.

mummypig · 01/08/2009 19:56

Glad my skills in mental arithmetic haven't completely disappeared yet either .

I put ds2 in one of the non-sticky nappies today and used KittyScruff's ideas of putting pants over the top. Seemed to work!

aendr · 02/08/2009 09:28

I still have a couple of nappy wraps from our aborted attempt at cloth nappies, so I could use them if I must. (Must get around to selling the stash .)

IlanaK · 02/08/2009 21:18

A friend of mine went into Waitrose to give back her nappies without a reciept as I had done the same with no problem and she was told by the manager that Waitrose had so many complaints on the nappies that they had told the company to change them or else and had been promised that new ones would be on the shelves within 10 days.

moonbells · 03/08/2009 08:20

I have a couple of vouchers now to replace the two duff packs I had, but I too am waiting to be sure they are new ones. Going to send them a couple from each pack back and the codes. Not that they don't know!!!

Meanwhile the JS eco ones are getting a heck of a trial since DS has a tummy bug!

littlebabybearsmum · 04/08/2009 11:38

So pleased I found this link we're also disappointed with the new design. Tried bigger size (5) and they leak because they are too big! Going to email naty now with my "bring back the old tab design" request! Hope normal service is resumed soon for all our sakes they were a great nappy.

Beejarama · 17/08/2009 12:53

Hi
Has anyone managed to get hold of corrected nature babycare since the "new design" cock-up. I checked the Naty website today and found a few complaints that the supposed replacement all fixed nappies are still rubbish. I'm loath to even bother buying any more babycare nappies until I can be sure they're well and truly sorted.

In the meantime, anyone used bambo nature nappies? Are they any good?

Ta
Beejarama

moonbells · 19/08/2009 12:05

I've still not got hold of the 'new new' ones as I'm waiting for someone on here to say they have fixed the problems!

It's so annoying - the old 4+ were padded enough to have DS sleep through almost 12h with one, now he's waking up in the night and having to have a change again in the thinner JS ones. I do wish they'd leave well alone sometimes!

aendr · 19/08/2009 18:03

Eep, my son is growing out of the size 4 old-style stash I have and beginning to leak at night again! Should I try a 4+ "fixed" one or decamp to another brand? It's kind of urgent as we're going camping at the weekend and that's the last place I want him wet through!
