What age do you consider too old to try for more children?

Title says it all really. I guess it depends how many children you already have, if any, but what is the oldest age you think you would still consider having a child?

In my 20s, I wanted 2 children before I was 30. 35 seemed ancient.
I had my first at 27 followed by a m/c, 2nd child born when I was 30. All well and good?
Well, no. I wanted just one more but wouldn't have any more past 35.
At 37, I had my 6th. Hmm, but I definitely wouldn't have any more past 40y. That was far too old.
Dc8 and dc9 arrived when I was 40y and almost 44y. So that blew that one out of the water, too.
While in my 20s, 35 seemed old, 45y doesn't seem so bad now that I'm 49

BonsoirAnna "If you already have other children, the ease with which you go through pregnancy and childbirth and early years will be pretty dependent on the amount of domestic help you have."

Not necessarily. No domestic help here and we've done just fine

I don't have an opinion on how old other people should be, if you feel you can cope, financially and emotionally, go you ahead. Although it is a bit weird when women approaching their 70's pump themselves full of hormones in a bid to be the world's oldest mother.

Anywho, personally I'm not planning on having any more anyway, but if I was, I think 35 would be my cut off point. I'm 29 and kind of feel too old already
