I am now 3 months postpartum and still suffering with "baby brain".

Today I got into the shower still wearing my pyjamas.

Can anyone top that ?

When DD was around 7 months, I put up the high chair to put her in for her lunch.
I knew something was wrong, but couldn't quite work out what.
I must've stood there, holding DD for a good 30 seconds before I realised the high chair, I set up, was in fact, the ironing board!

Oh and around the same time, I went to the local shop 2 minutes away, and then realised I'd left DD at home.
I rushed back, felt awful and still now feel bad.
She was asleep in her cot and oblivious but I can't believe I forgot her

I can identify with the rocking motion when not holding the baby - I spent many a time rocking on the sofa/bed/car whilst whispering shhhh to myself. DH likes to remind me of the first 2 months where every question aimed at anyone was asked in a coochy coo baby voice. "Would you like a cup of coffee?" in a high pitched sing song voice must have been very annoying.

dressing dd without putting a nappy on. Only realising when she was soaked through.

I made garlic bread without the garlic the other day. Not baby brain though, it was looking after 2 toddlers and pregnant brain.

I keep putting the mircrowave steriliser in the fridge - only realise when I try to press the buttons that do not exisit on the fridge door.

meep · 18/06/2009 17:20

oh - and have got into the bath still wearing my bra and thinking "something isn't right here?"

alittleteapot · 18/06/2009 17:21

on two separate occasions I double locked front door on way out before realising was not wearing any shoes.

I got into the shower wearing my knickers still.

A friend went to pick up her eldest from by car, pulled up, went to get the pushchair out the boot and it wasn't there.........in fact it was still in the street where she left it that morning doing the school run!

am unbelieveably knackered so this has cheered me up no end - dd's are now 7 months and am still frazzled with baby brain

Have put the milk in the tupperware cupboard

Frozen the cheese too(kitkatqueen) - plus the ham, cucumber, lettuce - wasn't until the next day and we needed to make ds packed lunch that we found it

Have been out shopping for the morning, come home to find back door wide open, conveniently latched onto back gate to any burglars would be welcomed in

loads more but can't remember - another joyful thing of motherhood is that my shortterm memory is dreadful - maybe that's why when i see newborns i'm feeling broody again

Pregnancy brain here last week.

Turned left out of our drive way and drove to town (8 miles away), wondered why I was approaching town and what was it I needed from there. Realised then that DD was waiting at Nursery for me so turned round, drove the 8 miles home, continued past house to DD's Nursery a furthef 7 miles on. Picked her up rather late that day!
