Soppy parent thread! I'd like to bring back some cheer after all those nasty threads that have been littering the site...

----

I was just thinking of how lovely and kissble DS's cheeks are.

Any more for any more?

When I pick ds up from the childminders he always gives me a lovely hug!

What lovely posts! I am adding this to my 'watch' folder so I can read it whenever I need a lift.

The other day, at bedtime, I asked DS (aged 2) how many kisses he wanted: 1, 4 or 10 - he immediately said 'Yes! I want 10 kisses!' so I gave him five on each cheek - he giggled all the way through - followed by butterfly and Eskimo kisses (somebody please correct me - is 'Inuit' the more acceptable word?).

By the end of this he was giggling his head off.

Beautiful.

DS (5) is so affectionate - he gives me so many kisses at bedtime, makes up little songs about how much he loves his mummy, blew me a kiss from the stage in school play. We have a plan to sail away in a blue boat for an adventure together. DH and DD will stay behind to look after the house, it seems.

Aww, that's lovely, dusty!!

(thanks for filling me in on the Eskimo/ Inuit thing - I once saw someone else on MN scoffing at people who say 'Eskimo' so thought I'd better tread carefully!)

I have a list:

The gorgeous sleepy smile I get from my son (14 months) after he's had his milk and is about to go to sleep - I just know I am the only one to get that smile.

The way my 3 year old daughter grabbed my hand on the way to the park the other day and said "we are the power girls.I love you mummy".

My daughter being delivered and placed on my chest. She lifted her wobbly head and looked straight at me as if to say "hello".

My daughter telling me I am her best friend.

When they fall asleep on me.

First thing in the morning when my daughter comes in for a cuddle.

The way my son cuddles me when he is scared.

Lovely thread.

I love the smell of ds's hair, especially when he has been out in the sun.

I love his bedtime 'huggle' when he wraps his little arms round my neck and hangs on relaly tight.

When he says to me or dh "I like you."

OH this thread is just what I need, am very ratty this evening.

DS1 (5), said the other day "Mommy I love you so much, I want to keep you forever"

He is so good with DS2 (3) and today introduced him to his teacher saying "This is my Benny", all proud of him

DS2 gets into bed with me every morning, snuggles in, kisses me and asks "I like Lions and Tigers, which animals do you like?" Every morning, I never tire of it.
Tonight he said he was my best friend too.

They are truly amazing, exasperating, hair pullingly frustrating but so full of love and fun.

Sigh

DD1 and Ds2 just came back downstairs to give me another kiss goodnight.

DS3 is sleeping like an angel

dd4 is sleeping on me hugging me tight as I am writting.

aaaawwwwww lovely thread!

The way that dcs hug me and sigh as if they are absorbing the love from me through their skin. They are 11 and 13 but still love a cuddle on a regular basis.
