3 1/2 yr old DS still having accidents

hi, my DS is 3 1/2 and has been toilet trained since he was 2 1/2. he is dry at nights and has been since not long after he was fully trained. the problem i have is infuriating me and i just dont know what to do about it. he is still having wee accidents 3 or 4 times a day, every day. sometimes its just a dribble as he hasnt got to the toilet quick enough but other times its a proper accident, full change etc.

i have tried asking him to go to loo, but he either has a strop about it or says he doesnt need to go then abit later hes peed himself. i have tried not saying anything and leaving him to it but he will just pee himself and not be bothered about it. i dont know if he just isnt aware hes done it, isnt bothered hes done it or is just being lazy. nearly everyday he comes home from his nursery session and he has obviously peed himself at some point in the afternoon coz i can smell it. i know that they get enthralled in things and forget to go but its happening everyday.

i will ask him if he needs to go before he has his tea, he will invariably say no then he'll pee himself while eating his tea and not say anything until i notice. ive even threatened him with having nappies back on and that doesnt bother him either, he'll just say he wants one on, then when i get one of his sisters nappies to put on him he'll go to the loo.

has anyone got any ideas about what i can do?

my ds is very similar
what works a bit is having a roll of stickers in the bathroom and every time he goes he gets one.
if he has an accident i always say 'oh dear, no sticker now, next time you need to go on the toilet and THEN you get a sticker'
helps a bit

I also make him take all his wet clothes and put in washing machine himself and go get himslef clean ones and get dressed by himself.
Makes it more effort than going to the toilet in the first place!
