just done the school run, have a basic clean and tidy seven seater(,large family,)my car is taxed and has mot and insurance,i am a normal non aggressive driver with full clean licence, and always have. now i know the argument about large cars driving into schools around the corner empty, but its not that reason as i take other teenagers in my car to school which you can clearly see from their uniforms that they arent from a local school, other locals would know this, the oaps were local, and we all live the nearest 3 miles away from school. so why today in front of a car full of children,2yrs up, did an oap wind her window down in the next lane to us as we sat at the lights saying i dont know what as i didnt realise she was upset until a kid in the back asked why the old lady was being nasty and flicking us the bird!! its hilarious now, when i think about it,her and her husband driver were older older oaps and to see the woman flick the bird, well i thought our generation were to blame for society stinking!!

Sorry, you'll have to enlighten me.
Flicking the bird?

IwishIwasmoreorganised · 20/05/2009 11:29

Sorry, I'm not sure I know what you mean either!

bigchris · 20/05/2009 11:32

you need to split up your diatribe into sentences to help us understand

Marthasmama · 20/05/2009 11:32

Flipping the bird = giving the finger.

saggyjuju · 20/05/2009 11:44

sorry, in a rush, yes the middle finger, not being disrepectful, but boy was she an oldie!the oaps car was already waiting at the lights before we got there, so could only be what i had done as i was just slightly back from her window when stationary, i had been chatting to my son as we pulled up and we were both laughing at our conversation. the oap continued with the middle finger out the window looking back at us as her husband drove off in front.... am crap on the laptop am a newbie so dont know what i'm doing, soz big chris x

Maybe she thought you were laughing at them? Or maybe she has some kind of dementia?

Sounds odd though

saggyjuju · 20/05/2009 12:05

all the older kids thought it was the best, they kept asking me if i was going to upset any other o.a.ps, luckily the younger children didnt see her giving me the middle finger,as that would be tricky explaining to their nursery why they were suddeny giving everyone the midde finger!!!

and is it me, i loved my grandma dearly ,she died at a very good old age, she was still very with it till the end, she always had a sparkle in her eye, always very funny and totally in touch ( i used to take great pleasure in giving her sordid details about stories i'd heard )but never once did she give the middle finger to anyone!!

KingCanuteIAm · 20/05/2009 12:20

Lol, my grandma never did either - AFAIK but then I never saw her with roadrage so you never know

saggyjuju · 20/05/2009 12:36

Or maybe she dementia and this maybe why she acted like this. If so her poor poor dh he must have a lot on his plate

fruitshootsandheaves · 20/05/2009 12:44

perhaps she had no other fingers and was trying to point out the axe murderer clinging to the roof of your car.

OnlyWhenISleep · 20/05/2009 12:48

ffs Ivykate why jump to that conclusion? Maybe the lady and her husband had a great laugh about it as they drove off.

I was on the tube earlier with my friend and my DC. DD was trying to get the attention of two old women sitting opposite us and they blanked her (she was being pretty annoying tbh, don't blame them). When we got off my friend was stunned at how rude they were. I told her I don't expect someone to act kindly just because they are old.

saggyjuju · 20/05/2009 12:48

first thing i did was get and check for the axe murderer

saggyjuju · 20/05/2009 14:07

its made my day as a SAHM,just gone down the same road in the same lane, hoping for perhaps an o.a.p moonie this time

bigchris · 20/05/2009 16:34

I think we'll all be giving the finger when we're 80 and judging too much on here

saggyjuju · 20/05/2009 17:33

well maybe not a moonie before tea time, crinkly bottom and all that!!
