Ecoballs and dirty nappies???

Just got myself some ecoballs.
Working great with normal washing with lavender oil in fabric softener drawer - but I'm struggling with the nappies!
Works fine with the just wet ones - but the dirty ones are a different story - got stains on them!
Tried adding in a 'stain' cycle as a prewash for my machine and still no effect. Even this mornings "fresh" dirty nappy which went straight into the machine still came out with marks on!?

I don't want to ditch them before Ive given them a real chance. (was quite surprised at the suds that came out of the nappies on their 1st wash with the ecoballs - must be quite a bit of powder in them!)

Has anyone else used these and how did they cope with dirty nappies???

Mine seem to have coped fine. I am pretty thourough with the sluicing in the toilet beforehand though, and I usually do a pre-rinse with no balls or anything. Occasionally I'll use 1/2 scoop Fairy NB instead of the balls, but I'm sure that it's just for psychological reasons
What nappies do you have?

We use ecoballs with our nappies too and find them OK. Generally we do a cold pre-wash first though as that helps to stop the stains setting.

We get the odd stain but nothing worse then when we used to use Ecover - a quick spell in the sun sorts it out (assuming we get any!)

I use Fairy non-bio (used to use Ecover) and I've always had stains. Doesn't bother me, they're only there to be pooed on again! But if the weather's okay, the sun bleaches them brilliantly.
