early in the morning I think - he has been dry in the day for about 6 months. For the last 4 mornings he has woken at 6am with a soaking bed - would you lift him before we go to bed? he has half a cup of milk before bed...thanks

Has he ever been dry through the night? And I lifted mine for 2-4 weeks at 10pm.

purplemonkeydishwasher · 14/05/2009 09:20

has he been dry at night for a while before this?

Comewhinewithme · 14/05/2009 09:22

I used to lift dd until she was 5 it was no bother TBH and much less hassle than clean bedding everyday.

Some mners have been buying puppy training mats (exactly the same as pampers dry mats) from argos I think it is around 10.00 for 40 at least it will save the bed getting flooded every night .

HTH.

thanks for your replies - he still wears a pull up and I wouldnt attempt without! I dont think he is ready to be dry at night but just wondered what I could do about the wet bed early in the morning - my thought is that he is dry until then maybe so ill try lifting I think....

what size pull up are you using? Maybe you need to go up a size or try a different brand (or try a proper nappy)

Noonki · 14/05/2009 20:05

I use either:

2 nappies 9largest size

or one nappy and one nappy wrap.

both mine (aged 3 and 2) regularly leak at night no matter what brand/style of nappy we use.

I then reuse the top nappy as it never gets wet but acts a wedge!

Latootle · 23/05/2009 22:34

21/2 is really young to expect a child to be dry through the night. I put a light nappy / pullup on with one of those wee pads and when they were ready as soon as there was a week completely dry no more safety nets!!

Sidge · 23/05/2009 22:38

Is he leaking through his pullups?

Maybe try a bigger size, or use a nappy rather than a pull-up as pullups aren't really designed for overnight use (not as absorbent).

Otherwise you can lift him, but remember that lifting doesn't help him learn to be dry at night but can minimise the likelihood of a wet bed.

(And he is still very young so night time dryness is unlikely anyway)
