I've tried to do some research but there seems to be SO much choice out there I'm a bit confused.

I basically want something that is quick and easy to put on and is easy to dry/or tumbledry.

I'm aware that the real nappy week ends tomorrow as does a lot of the discounts.........

bumping for you as I have no clue either BUT

I would say they all take alot of work

HeinzSight · 02/05/2009 12:38

They seem so much easier than nappies from our parents generation. The no folding appeals.

Lets keep this bumped!!

in my experience-bum genius are the best. Expensive but worth it.

I am pregnant again and excited about being able to buy a few of them with my voucher from the council.

Bumgenius

Well.. You will get some real experts along soon, but imo you cant go wrong with Tots bots bamboozles, velcro fastening. I have used them from birth to potty training and they have been fab. No messing about with folding, stuffing or nappy nippers. One nappy on, already in shape of nappy and velcro fasten like a disposable, 1 wrap on top (again tots bots) in the same shape.
They take a bit longer to dry, but are very absorbant. I think they are a good choice if you want a decent, simple nappy that works really well.

Nappyzone got bumgenius on a good deal at the moment, I got 4 more today.

Other things - do you definately want pocket nappies/nappies that go on in one piece?

Would you try a nappy that needs a cover as well?

Will you be tumble drying?

May have other suggestions depending on what you are looking for...

I would suggest trying a few different types to see what suits you and your lo, as what suits one might not suit another. Its great fun trying them out too! If you get them pre-loved then you can always sell them again and make your money back if you don't get on with them.

Most nappies i've tried are easy to put on once you know what you're doing. And I don't find any of them a lot of work, just chuck them in the washing machine and hang them out to dry, only a few more minutes work than putting out bin bags full of disposables!

Totsbots fluffles are great for quick drying although they've stopped making them so you'd need to find them second hand.

I'm sure someone else will come along whose more helpful, but i know when i was researching them i spent so long trying to work it all out, i found the easiest thing was just to get stuck in and start trying them out for myself.

nappyelite · 02/05/2009 15:49

The problem is what suits one may not suit another so everyone will have their own opinions as to what is easiest. See I'd never use an all in one as I like the security of a nappy and nappy wrap system.
Have you tried ebay to see what's about? Or places like bumfluff/ nappyzone which could give impartial advice maybe?

Marthasmama · 02/05/2009 16:08

I asked this question earlier this week! I am very vyer lazy so need something that is bascially a disposable that you wash IYSWIM. I have ordered - Bumgenius, Totsbots AIOs, Itti Bittis and a Blueberry pocket nappy (because it was gorgeous) so that I can have a bit of a compare. I really hope I don't like the Blueberry best as it was blardy expensive! Look it's so pretty!

Nighbynight · 02/05/2009 16:12

Terry squares, IME - they dry the fastest.

smackapacka · 02/05/2009 16:15

I've got some nappies from babykind (REal Easy) - they're like washable disposables. Really good. I'm still a bit too lazy to use them much though!

I was really hoping to find somewhere running an event today so taht I could look at some different types, but all the roadshow type events happened yesterday

I'll google nappyzone to see what advise is on there too.

One thing I have managed to find out is that our council run a £25 cash back scheme for real nappies, so that's a good start at least!!

From what I've gleaned, on MN, Bum Genius do seem to be a favourite.
