'Wicking' liner

Hi all, I'm new to the world of reusables and would welcome some advice.

We're using Little Lambs towelling and bamboo, which seem OK. Using them without a liner as they're quite bulky on DD, who is 16 weeks. However, as soon as she does a wee the nappy is obviously wet against her skin. The big advantage of disposables is that they keep the wetness away. Is it possible to get any kind of liner that would keep her bottom relatively dry, or is this just the way it works?

Welcome to the world of reusables! They're great, aren't they! The problem of having a wet bum in towelling reusables is normal. It isn't actually too bad, and can help them to potty train as they are more aware of the effect of their own pee, but it isn't good with nappy rash etc. It is possible to buy fleece liners that help with the problem. Fleece allows the wee to pass through into the nappy, but doesn't stay wet in itself, therefore keeping the baby's bottom dry. They are very cheap and you should be able to buy them from any of the nappy websites. (You could even make your own without difficulty)

Leedsmum2be- we had this problem, using fleece liners totally solved it. Don't buy them, just buy a cheap fleece blanket and cut up into whatever size/shape suit your washables eg. rectangle or hour-glass.
Asda at the moment have a cream coloured blanket for £2. I needed some new liners so bought it this week and cut out 18 liners, I still have two thirds of the blanket left to cut out many more when I need them.
