Different hats? Ds loves wearing different styles (baseball cap, beanie, 'flowerpot men')

Lizzylou · 27/04/2009 13:27

We have lots of hats, pirate, cowboy, Bob the builder etc ELC good for these

Doctors kit?

My three year old has just been given a pink wig and she LOVES it. Kids jewellery is also a good one for her, as well as bags, sunglasses and other 'accessories'. To be honest though, she'd much rather just wear my things

BiscuitStuffer · 27/04/2009 13:28

dammit - it should say 'costume' in the title

oh yes - hats!
She also has afro hair so not sure if a wig may be tricky? otherwise i think I might go for it but can only find a short pink one which may not work?

face paints. little bags. offcuts of glittery/patterned/furry material from haberdashery shop which they can use for so many things. doctors kit - to go with drs costume.

artifarti · 27/04/2009 13:36

We had a 'dressing up' box when I was little that had all kinds of stuff in it - most of it was old clothes from various family members, everything from spangly tops to flat caps, stilettos to flower power dresses. We loved it! If you go to a charity shop or jumble sale, you could probably get all kinds of random stuff.

lucysmum · 27/04/2009 13:36

animal masks. long plain adult t shirts in brown, white they can then use as base for outfits (can you tell my girls love dressing up !?)

Feather boas - our local pound shop sells them
Cheerleader pom poms and batons
Swords and shields

Lancelottie · 27/04/2009 13:44

Play food

greatwhiteshark · 27/04/2009 13:45

Loads of silk scarves/shawls etc.

porolli · 27/04/2009 16:29

I bought some stripy zebra type material and stripy orange material and made tails (v small amount of fabric, minimal effort) - my sons were obsessed with animals and the tail tucked into trousers seemed to be enough!

would second swords, also v cheap halloween capes, hairy hands etc. picked some up for 50p just after halloween.

YohoAhoy · 27/04/2009 16:30

Glittery tops/scarves etc from charity shops are a favourite here too

purepurple · 27/04/2009 16:32

the children at my nursery love playing with the bag of fabric
it's got allsorts in, big, little, patterned, furry,
it stretches the imagination

MadamAnt · 27/04/2009 16:35

Charity shop clothes - boas, purses, scarves, glasses etc

BiscuitStuffer · 27/04/2009 19:13

This is all great stuff - thank you so much everybody!!!! We're going to need an entire room to house it all if I get carried away....

Pieces of material in different colours, sizes and weights, along with things to make belts and clips. Then they can drape stuff around them to their heart's content, as well as dressing up furniture to be thrones etc and making tents. Also ribbons (like the ones off fancy parcels). Adult slips/silky-underskirts make great long dresses when pulled up just below the armpits.

UniS · 28/04/2009 16:14

waistcoats, hats, bits of fabric. plain head band onto which you can add ears for various animals. Costume jewellery.
