Please

2.6 dd has decided not to wear nappies any more.
She loves wearing her big girls pants, she will sit on the potty sometimes when asked. She has asked to use the loo.
But not yet done anything on either , she seems to be able to go quite long without weeing, can pull up her trousers and pants up and down, all the signs are there but keeps having accidents and no wees/poos on the potty.

I've got stickers etc for the big moment when she does go and as she is refusing to wear a nappy don't think I can go back now.

Not sure what else to do apart from keep taking her to the potty and hope eventually she'll start going there?

Just keep taking her to the potty and make a big fuss (lots of clapping and smiles) when she gets one in the right place. Can even have the potty wherever you are so dont have to dash too far - as she gets better move the potty back to the bathroom.

If you have to go out and can't cope with accidents then leave knickers on and put pull ups on over the top (worked for us!).

Does she have a friend about the same age she could observe going to potty?

I have to say I succumbed and bought this. DS adored it and was potty-trained in a day.

so when she wets herself sould I take her to the potty straight away after removing the wet clothes?
god, it's so frustrating!

Ilovemydog - she goes to playgroup so maybe peer pressure might help?

The trick is for her to see a friend on the potty. This is what helped DD decide she wanted to use the potty.

Maybe ask one of DD's friends to show her how she uses the potty?

thanks
I haven't tried the bare bottomed approach yet either, is that where you run round after them and as soon as they start to wee plonk them on it?
