We were broken into last weekend and I have to write an incident report for the police.

This is what they want:

Ok, so how the buggers got and in and what they damaged?

I would like to write that they entered the house through the patio doors (to the garden), damaging the door and the shutters.

Which I take to mean a detailed description of items stolen, with photos if available? I have a list of items.

Dégâts - is that other damages? To the door?

Merci!

stolen objects - where they were, make, model etc, descriptions of jewellery.

degats = damage

Thanks Bramble. How would I write that the burglars entered through the patio door and searched the house?

oooh I posted that one! pop it into babel fish - I had a quick look and it seemed ok (my French degree is 20 years old !!)

MmeLindt · 23/04/2009 08:00

Babelfish translates it as:

Can anyone tell me if that is ok?

HTH! Sorry about your predicament...
