Aren't you the mner merrily chucking nappies in bins on the street?

We did a mix of potty and trainer seat, with the emphasis being on ditching the potty asap. (but the potty still came on outings etc)

I have only trained one dd so far, the little one isn't old enough yet so you might want to wait for more experienced advice.

I am!!!! I had no idea I was being so dreadful!! Thank god for MN eh?!

I would love to just go straight to the toilet but I wondered if they gets stressed / confused or something. If you've done one already then you are more experienced than me and worth listening to!

btw - you should never share a creme egg. Ever. So, not sure I can take you seriously if you are prone to being in possesion of just one piece .

I always notice food related names and you have become a bit of a temporary "famous name" on here.

I need to change my name to something less Easterish and more spring like. I toyed with the idea of onepieceofspringlamb but there is already a springlamb on here. Still thinking about it...

I have always had "onepiece" in front of my name. My original/real mnet name is onepieceoflollipop. It is to do with dd1's interpretation of the Hungry Caterpillar book.

Ime she didn't get confused re the potty training. Dd had already seen us on the loo fairly frequently (open door policy) so for her that was "the norm" but then she also saw other friends (dcs) on the potty and at nursery it was a mix of potty/training seats. We had to provide our own at nursery so we sent both.

I trained both of mine straight to the toilet, I really can't be doing with scraping out smelly potties. Also saves the faff of training again from potty to toilet. You may have to assist with lifting DD or DS on at first but if you get a little step they soon get the hang of it and they absolutely love flushing the chain!

p.s. whatever you decide I would advise getting cheap ones (Wilkos were good)

Am in the midst of training dc2 (4 days in now). Neither of mine used the potty - don't know why - just preferred the toilet with a trainer seat and step-stool, maybe because it's what grown-ups use and there's the 'fun' of toilet paper, flushing the loo and making bubbles in the sink afterwards.

You could always go for something more batty, like Onepieceofcellotape. That would last all year!

I've just bought a step from eBay - marvellous idea to bypass the potty from the start if you can get away with it - thank you for that!!
