Other than giving them lots of love, what do you consider are the 3 most important things that you try to do for your child every day to help them develop?

Mine are:-

1)Read to or with every day
2)Give them good food healthy food
3)Get them out for a bit of exercise

  1. Get her to school on time with completed homework, correct PE kit, music books, etc.
  1. Give her yummy but healthy things to eat.

  2. Get her to bed on time so that she is not tired/cranky the next day when she has to go to school again!

Repeat every week day during school term.

  1. Love and affection.
  1. A healthy diet.

3.Praise and encouragement.

I base these on my own childhood.
My mum only managed no.2.
I have a healthy body but the lack of affection and encouragement seriously affected and shaped my life as an adult!

play with them

  1. Feed them regularly and as healthily as they will allow me to.
2. Keep them safe. 3. Ensure they get enough sleep.

I think playing with them, praising them, keeping my temper with them, taking them out, giving them new experiences, etc are also important, but surely the physical needs must come first.

  1. give him lots of kisses and cuddles

  2. give him plenty of learning oppurtunties and lots of praise and attention

Haven't read all this, still at work, going home soon tho'.

  1. Make him feel loved, by cuddling and telling him I love him.
  2. get him to do something that gives him a sense of responsibility, such as feed the dog, put his clean clothes away, or speak to his Granny on the phone (she lives a long way from us.
  3. Make sure he gets to go to the park, or some sort of exercise

I never really thought about what to do - I just did what I did and I hit the jackpot!

crazyandconfused · 29/04/2005 18:16

Other than Love

Be there for them
Feed and exercise them well
Have a great laugh with them

Not to put a downer on things but I always keep in mind that there might not be a tommorrow, it helps priorotise what really is important
