My DS is nearly 16 months old and I am feeling as if he never seems to progress. He is progressing but just slowly.
He has been banging his head on the side of his cot before he goes to sleep and while I have googled and been assured that it is very normal, it has got me worried about his development.
He is cruising but can't stand without support and doesn't seem to be anywhere near walking. My daughter didn't walk properly until she was 16 months but she was more sturdier and could do a few steps unaided.
He can say mama but not dada which is strange as the dada is usually first. He doesn't seem to copy anything so if i say dada to him he replies with mama. He was saying something that sounded like hiya a few months ago but he has stopped saying that now. It may have only been a sound that sounded like it though iyswim. Most of the time he is too busy looking around the room at something more interesting than me, pictures, lights etc so it is hard to actually get him to try and say it. It isn't that he never gives eye contact as he does all the time and is very engaging and smiley when he sees people and if they are being silly with him. He just has a short attention span.
He does clap, wave, show how big he is, kiss if you ask him to and is able to put the circle shape in the circle hole but he doesn't pretend to do things and has only just started pointing to things.
Does this sound normal or should I be a little worried.
