Hi, I have a 4 year old daughter and we will be going to a wedding in May.
I've found a lovely dress by I love gorgeous for her but the little girl modelling it is bare footed. So I can't see which shoes would look best, it looks good with no shoes, but that's not too practical. I was thinking about ballet shoes but I'm not sure if they are suitable for outside.
If not, can you recommend any that are perhaps like ballet shoes with a hard sole? Thanks.

you should be able to pick up some pumps anywhere.
Here is a selection from monsoon online here

Ballet shoes would be okay if it's dry but are basically cloth so no good in the rain. Also, the soles are very thin so walking on a surface such as stones or gravel would be painful. Fine if she's only going to wear them on pavements for a short time or indoors.

I got dd some silver ballet pumps to be a bridesmaid in Accessorise/Monsoon. John Lewis do similar, some with ankle straps. Regular ballet shoes would be a write off after outside use and horrid if it was damp (like on grass) . Otherwise white or cream classic mary janes or sandals.

and m&s

From memory, vertbaudet also do cute wee pumps

dd's were similar ot Gold Flower but silver and had a sparkly part with bow instead of flower. She has really odd shaped narrow feet but found them a decent fit for occasional party use.

My Bridesmaids wore ballet pumps,as I needed to have them dyed to match the Monsoon Chinese Style dress. They had no problem all day.Didn't rain though.

Thanks everyone, I love the monsoon ones. The ones I like best have no strap though, I wonder if she'd be able to keep them on or would she be tripping up?
I'll have to take her to try on a few pairs.

Also try GAP and BHS.

You might be able to tack elastic across like on normal ballet shoes or thread ribbon through a tab at the back, if there is one and tie over the ankle.

Thanks LIZS, that would be great. I hope they have a tab at the back, I love the ribbon idea.

If there isn't I'll see if I can add one myself.
