... and send them off to either do something in their room or sleep?

7:30 usually

but this time change is a bugger he's reluctant to go to bed now

NotanOtter · 31/03/2009 20:12

as early as possible - still up here though aged 6 and 3 grrrr

MollyRogerslikeanEasterabbit · 31/03/2009 20:14

ds aged 8, goes to bed at 8. But I can hear him and hos older brother having a jumpathon on my bed

I wouldn't mind, but he has walked to school (1 mile), been swimming, played outside and been to the park for an hour after school....he must be tired, surely?

depends on what time I open the wine! Seriously, it really depends on how the evening is going. If we are all having fun/a sensible or interesting conversation/watching something together on tv it might be later. If they are pissing about/winding each other up, it could be any time from 7.30 onwards. I don't always 'interact' with them though! They often entertain themselves or play something together. My eldest is 13 so stays up until about 10 but other two are 7 and 11 and are usually booted upstairs to read or sleep by 8pm

Agree time change is a PITA, dd is still awake now I think (usually dead to the world by about 8.45), and will be horrible tomorrow morning as she always is when she doesn't get enough sleep.
Roll on the Easter holidays when we can all get a lie in . . .

Hulababy · 31/03/2009 21:25

DD (7 on Sunday) goes to bed around 8pm. She may sometimes read for a few minutes but often goes straight to sleep.

Sje does go off and play, often upstiars in bedroom or playroom, at other points int he evening as well though.

Hulababy · 31/03/2009 21:25

Time change fortunately never seems to make any difference to DD.

gemmiegoatEGGS · 31/03/2009 21:27

dd is 3 dd is 5, nearly 6. I get no peace until 7pm, strict bedtime on school nights. Saying that, they have been spending more time in the garden lately and only bellow for me when they need a drink/need a wee/fell over

ABetaDad · 31/03/2009 21:32

Weekdays bedtime at 7.30 for a 7 and 9 yr old.

Weekends we allow bedtime at 8.00 so we get a slightly longer lie in.

We try and talk to them when they come home but sometimes they just want to wind down.

Mummyfor3 · 31/03/2009 21:37

Bedtime for 5 and 6 year old between 7.30 and 8pm.
Time change was no hassle - although 1 year old has not changed his body clock yet

My 8yo and my 7yo go up at the same time about 8.30 (12yo needs more sleep and always has done). But they are growing up and don't need the constant interacting.

cory · 01/04/2009 07:52

correction: 8yo and 12yo

MollieO · 01/04/2009 07:55

7.30 weekdays and 7 at weekends - ds 4 and we don't get home much before 6.30pm during the week.
