hi its been a couple of years since i used them im not sure they still sell them but does anyone know where to buy care mats they was no sign of them at all my usual haunts ive tried plastic backed sheets but they just don t absorb enough. My son absolutly refuses to put on his night knickers and the soaking beds at 5 am is killing me.

I got my latest ones in Tesco, and I think I've seen them in Boots too.

Asda sell Pamper's bed mats and are the cheapest place followed by Sainsbury's and then Boots.

Oh and I bought some in Waitrose once. Surprisingly they were the same price as in Asda.

I've seen them in Asda and Boots. I think Boots even do their own make ones.

In the 70s my mother used to put a bin liner on our bed! It worked, probably an odd leak.

Some of you may be horrified by this, but because the Care Mats are so expensive, whenever my DD1 wets one, I allow it to dry and re-use it until it's been wet 4 times before I dispose of it.

Well, it is more environmentally friendly!

As long as you are happy with doing that then you are the best judge for doing that.Best is a bin liner with a towel on top then a cot sheet over that.

these are worth their weight in urine ....

RidiculousCrush · 28/03/2009 23:00

Honest to God, Old people's homes use them, they are ace

Ive got washable mats (waterproof layer sandwiched between cotton) from Greenbaby - they are fantastic, work perfectly and wash well

And are reusable not disposable - I can only hope that care mats are less easily available now because they are so wasteful [hopeful]

I second ridiculouscrush - Kylies are amazing, we bought some for when dd was utterly not dry at night but had horrendous nappy rash and couldn't wear pull-ups anymore. They were really good, if she did wet the bed it didn't bother her and although they appear a bit expensive, a couple of these will soon pay for themselves.
