OK, OK, you can have my car, my shoes, anything, if you'll just STOP FARKING WHINGEING...

...is what I am on the verge of screeching like a banshee.

DS is 20 months. Usually delightful, but last week or so hasn't been himself and last two days it's just been constant, offensive, purposeless whining.

I know I'm the adult, so am trying SO hard to keep a lid on. I know it's probably his teeth. Or a bug. Or a growth spurt. Or some other totally normal thing that toddlers do and will certainly pass.

But GAAAAAARRRGGGHHHH if I have to listen to it for much longer I feel I will go stark, staring mad.

So I guess my question is - is it too early to open the gin bottle?

Never too early for gin.

Am doing the terrible twos for the fourth time now, and it's driving me crazy. So nuts in fact that I have pretty much given up saying no to anything that doesn't impact on his immediate safety.

So he's pretty much living on biscuits and weetabix and watching lots of cbeebies. And I don't care any more.

Please open it now. I need a drink and really can't so you are duty bound to have one for me

OK, so that's four FOR gin (counting me) and none against. To the fridge!

And I have to confess because I'm dying privately with shame to yelling STOP IT in the car because he'd been whining since the second we left (bored, having thrown at me all the books I'd thoughtfully given him) and to asking in tense tones why he didn't STOP wedging his WRETCHED TRAINS down the side of the sofa if he wanted them back.

Sigh. It's been a D minus mummy day round here.

Well I'm allergic to gin, so I'll have vodka, and I don't have toddlers, but does a 9 year old and a dog count?(am missing one child as he is away with school)

I survive by drinking by VOdka instead

PollyPoo · 27/03/2009 22:03

Saltire I'm with you on the vodka... DD is 20 months old and doing the whole tantrums/clingy thing

Last night, whilst she was in the bath, I sat on the loo drinking red wine.

So I reckon its never too early - crack open the gin frazzledgirl and I'll join you
