Can anyone locate a podcast or CD of Hamlet in French?

I've found reading a text in French that I know really well in English, a good way to brush up on my long-forgotten French language skills.

I'd like to try learning some Shakespeare in French, for that reason. But because my accent's atrocious, I'd like to hear a professional actor doing the lines.

Anyone help me with a sound recording of Hamlet in French?

Try googling La Tragédie d?Hamlet

Tried amazon.fr?

The nearest I could find was

www.amazon.fr/Hamlet-Johnny-Hallyday/dp/B00004T41D/ref=dp_return_1?ie=UTF8&n=301062&s=mus ic

Which is, admittedly, an "opera rock" ... I shudder to think. Definitely one to listen to the samples before buying. Nevertheless, Johnny is, of course, a known actor as well as a singer, so maybe it's better than it looks.

If not, try on fnac.fr - there might be a schools edition for bac students or something.

YOu must know Hamlet very well then!
I have spent 2 years working on King Lear in Performance and would struggle reading it in French

I'm a bit more optimistic that Beetroot is, but just a technical warning ... You do realise that a translation may well make excessive use of the past historic tense instead of the perfect tense, don't you? Not actually that hard to understand once you get the hang of it, but a bit disorientating at first.

I'm not optimistic I'm going to be able to find it, but thank so much for your attempts and advice.

Yeah, I do know the text pretty well, I've performed it and directed it a few times. The older I get the more I love it.

Don't you think everyone, really, should know the French for,

'Who would fardels bear?'

and

'he would his quietus make with a bare bodkin'?

Well good luck with it - not sure how useful it will be

Let me know if you find a use for
