I think a really hot wash can help but wait for an expert to come along and confirm it.

What brand are the wraps? Sometimes I've found that some "grades" of fleece just aren't up to much. Certainly the Stacinator ones are quite reliable - but I think with any fleece wraps, if you have the child sitting in the same place for too long, you can get wicking. Also, tight fitting trousers/vests? I think with both wool & fleece covers, you really have to think a lot more about loose fitting clothes. And I've found that what I thought was quite good and loose actually caused a bit of compression.

Not an expert though, as not used fleece (or wool!) very much, but just a few things I've encountered anyway!

I haven't tried but one of the sites (butterfly babies) I bought a fleece wrap on said that it was beneficial to occasionally wash fleece wraps with fabric conditioner?! I haven't yet though - has anyone else heard this?

Flamesparrow · 23/03/2009 20:09

What rachel said tbh.

Fleece does depend on the quality of the fleece. The only ones I found to work well for me were bumsnugglers and they were double thickness fleece, and the fleece was thick good quality, whereas soemthing like the tots rainbow wrap is really best for summers with skirts and lots of moving.

Lanolin won't help, no idea if the conditioner would, I guess it might give a bit more of a barrier.

Wool is soooo much better.

Rachel there is no make on them. I got them given to me. They are blue look like pants and are covered in cars lol...any help?

Hmm, yup i would say it is down to the wrap more than anything

TheLadyEvenstar · 24/03/2009 23:36

ohhhhhhhhh thanks Flame just need to get some more i think. Fleece and wool are great for his skin as soon as i use ME wraps he ends up with really red rings on tops of his thighs and if i loosen them he ends up wet.......
