Mattress protectors? And is DS ready for night time??

DS has been brilliant on the potty for the last 4 weeks (daytime) only about 4 accidents. Knows when to go and asks if we are not near potty or out.

He has woken up the last 4 mornings in a row with a dry nappy and taken himself to potty He has had more dry mornings in the 4 weeks but this is most in a row. So question is .... do I go for it and try him without a nappy. If so should I buy a mattress/duvet protector? Has anyone any reccomendations (he's in a double bed)

By the way he is 2.8.

Any advice gratefully received

WOW that is young, mine was 5.5 before he was dry at night.
I bought 2 mattress covers, both kinda rubber/plastic backed with terry toweling front, fitted sheets.
They were about £6.50 each and they wash lovely.
My boy is a sweaty head and doesnt seem to sweat any more thatn ususual with the sheet on.

He is nearly 6 and still has an accident maybe once a week.
Good luck sounds like he is doing great!

Thanks deany. Where did you get your covers from??

I'm not counting my chickens just yet, just trying to go for it as and when he seems ready and not pushing it. That's why I feel the need for the protectors don't think this is going to be 'it'

DS is also a sweaty one, so sounds like the ones you have would be perfect.

Here's my top tip (that I got off MN years ago!)...make up the bed with mattress protector, sheet, another mattress protector and another sheet...then if there's an accident in the middle of the night all you have to do is whip off the top layers and not worry about remaking the bed!

Wow - brilliant. Go for it (but with the protector(s). He sounds like a little star.

I like these from Hippychick....here.

They don't feel plasticky at all and wash really well. My girls were both dry at nights before the age of 2 BTW so def go for it.

tassisssss that is a fab tip! Would never have thought of that.

They look good Laundrylover

Thanks for all your replies, have ordered them and as soon as they get here we'll be going for it. He had another dry night last night and took himself to the potty again this morning. Fingers crossed. Have a 4 month old so the less nappies in this house the better
